Andrei Markov's overtime goal broke a 3-3 tie and lifted the Montreal Canadiens to victory Sunday. The goal, incredibly, was Markov's fourth of the campaign, proving how important he is to the Habs when healthy. Brendan Gallagher, Brandon Prust and Ryan White all found the back of the net in the victory while Alex Galchenyuk picked up two assists.

Andrei Markov scored a goal and added an assist in the Canadiens' 4-1 victory over Washington Thursday night. Markov has done a good job of reminding hockey fans how great a player he is when healthy after recording three goals and an assist over his past two contests. Tomas Plekanec, Brian Gionta and Josh Gorges all found the back of the net in the victory while Max Pacioretty and Raphael Diaz drew two assists apiece.

Andrei Markov scored two goals Tuesday as the Canadiens upended Florida by a score of 4-1. The oft-injured Markov is an integral part of the Montreal offence and the team is clearly more dangerous with him in the lineup. Rookie Alex Galchenyuk scored his first goal of the season in the win while Tomas Plekanec tallied his first of the season as well.

Andrei Markov is healthy and ready to be a vital part of the Canadiens' defense this season. Markov has played in only 20 games the past two years. He's had two knee reconstructions and, most recently, two cracked ribs in the KHL in October. But as the Montreal Gazette's Dave Stubbs says, he's "heathier and fitter than he's been in as long as anyone can remember." And the defenseman thinks the games in Russia were beneficial, too. "The games I played in Russia were huge, especially because I didn't play many the last two years," Markov said. "Playing in Russia gave me confidence in myself. I feel good and I'm ready to go."

Andrei Markov will play with Chekhov of the KHL on Tuesday but will be back in Montreal Thursday. After spending the vast majority of the past three seasons on the sidelines, Markov is healthy but he's never that far away from another injury. The potential reward could easily outweigh the risk if you plan on taking a gamble on the talented Russian in your fantasy league this season.

Andrei Markov is ready to return to North America whenever he gets the call. He was asked how quickly he could return to Montreal from Russia to attend training camp and he said, "I have no idea. We're on the road for three games. Tonight was our first game. We're flying to another city (to Nizhni Novgorod, 400 km to the southeast of Yaroslavl) and nobody's told me when I have to be in Montreal. If they tell me or text me or email me to say I have to be home in 48 hours, then I pack my bags and fly back." Markov dressed on Sunday afternoon for KHL team Vityaz Chekhov in a 2-1 loss to Lokomotiv Yaroslavl. The Canadiens, their fans and fantasy owners would probably prefer Markov to return immediately before the oft-injured defenseman sustains another ailment. He suffered a minor rib injury while playing in the KHL earlier during the lockout. Markov has notched five points and a plus-3 rating in 20 games with Vityaz Chekhov this year.

Andrei Markov followed up his Gordie Howe hat trick on Monday with a tamer performance in Wednesday's 5-4 victory versus Yugra. He had an assist, one shot and no penalty minutes in the contest. Markov has picked up four points in 13 KHL matches this season.

Andrei Markov scored once and added an assist to lead Vityaz Chekhov to a 5-3 win over Bars Astana Monday. Markov has returned to action after being out since October 26 with a rib injury. He had only one assist in 11 games heading into Monday's action so this has to be good news for his Russian squad. Former NHLer Dustin Boyd opened the scoring for Bars Astana.

Andrei Markov might return to Montreal to look after the rib injury he sustained during the second period of last Friday's KHL contest against Yugra Khanty-Mansiisk. It was reported on Sunday by Sovietsky Sport's Genadi Boguslavsky and Moscow's RIA Novosti news agency that the Canadiens defenseman would not travel with his KHL squad on their three-game road trip this week that comes before the leagues' schedule break. After this week's action, Vityaz's next scheduled action will take place versus Dynamo Moscow on Nov. 14 and he had originally planned to return to Montreal during the break. Markov told La Presse on Saturday that the ailment is "nothing serious" and that his knee "wasn't touched," but he wasn't available for comment on Sunday to confirm his plans.

All you Andrei Markov owners can breath a little easier; he did not seriously injure himself Friday. He was forced to leave a KHL game with an undisclosed injury which set off alarm bells about his knees. Turns out Markov sustained a slight rib injury and is considered day-to-day. He told reporters that he was more winded after absorbing a check than anything else.
