He logs heavy minutes for the Blues and is on track to hit the 40-point barrier for the fourth time in his career. The 25-year-old is as reliable as they come.

Pietrangelo dished out two assists -- one on the power play -- Tuesday in a 5-4 win over the Jets. He's been rolling steadily of late, with four points in his last four games, though Pietrangelo's plus-minus (minus-3) has been curiously lagging for a Blues team that sports a plus-43 goal differential. This despite the fact that the overwhelming majority of his points have come at even strength. Nonetheless, even though Pietrangelo will fall short of his third 50-point season this year, he'll surely rack up 40-plus for the fourth time in his career, and there's nothing wrong with that.

Pietrangelo was minus-3 with four shots on net Thursday in a 3-1 loss to the Flyers. It has been a disappointing year for Pietrangelo owners who were expecting better than 33 points in 64 games and a minus-5 rating. He is logging the same kind of tough minutes as in past seasons, but with a career-low shooting percentage so a few more goals could be coming. He still has a shot at cracking the 40-point barrier, so it could be worth trying to buy low on the 25-year-old as he has a very good chance to bounce back and be among the top-10 defensemen in real life and fantasy.

Pietrangelo scored his sixth of the season Sunday in a 6-5 shootout loss to the Canucks. He took two PIM, two shots and added a blocked shot on the night. Pietrangelo is plugging along playing heavy minutes and contributing here and there on offense for the Blues. There was some thought that he might take off with teammate Kevin Shattenkirk down due to injury, but it hasn't happened. Still, the 24-year-old should surpass 40 points and finish in the top-25 scorers among defensemen, which is a good season by most standards.

Pietrangelo's production is off of last year's pace, but he is still trending to a 40-point season and ranks 27th among defensemen in scoring. Perhaps more disconcerting are his minus-2 rating and mere six power-play points on the season, which are both below his career norm. Still, Pietrangelo is actually putting a few more shots on net this year and should total nearly 200 shots for the year, so if his shooting percentage comes up toward his career rate (5.3%) over the final 20 games of the season he could find the back of the net a few more times.

Pietrangelo scored his fifth goal of the season Friday in a 5-1 win over the Bruins. He had two PIM, two shots, four blocked shots, and a hit in the game.Pietrangelo is off last season's scoring pace a bit, but his 31 points is tied for 25th among defensemen and he still has a good shot to reach the 40-point plateau. He is logging heavy minutes in the absence of all-star teammate Kevin Shattenkirk, which will hopefully not lead to him wearing down as the season goes on.

This was Pietrangelo's first point in four games and first since teammate Kevin Shattenkirk when down with an abdominal injury. Pietrangelo needs to step up in Shattenkrik's absence and perhaps his performance Sunday is a sign that he is ready to do so.

Pietrangelo picked up an assist Friday in a shootout win over Carolina. He was plus-1 and added one shot, two hits, and a blocked shot in the game. Like many of his teammates, January has treated Pietrangelo well as he has picked up seven points in 11 games since the calendar flipped. He has been overshadowed by teammate Kevin Shattenkirk this year, but Pietrangelo is having a solid season with 28 points, an even rating, and 125 shots on goal through 48 games.

Pietrangelo logged an assist, two PIM and a plus-1 rating in Saturday's win over the Maple Leafs. After strangely sitting with a double-digit negative rating in plus/minus for much of the season despite the Blues' winning ways, Pietrangelo is beginning to notice a return to normalcy in that regard. He's produced six points while going plus-10 in his eight January games, bringing his season rating to a palatable minus-1 in the process.
