Pietrangelo picked up an assist Tuesday in a 5-2 loss to the Canadiens. He added two shots, a hit, and two blocked shots on the night. Pietrangelo's production is off of last year's pace, but he is still trending to a 40-point season and ranks 27th among defensemen in scoring. Perhaps more disconcerting are his minus-2 rating and mere six power-play points on the season, which are both below his career norm. Still, Pietrangelo is actually putting a few more shots on net this year and should total nearly 200 shots for the year, so if his shooting percentage comes up toward his career rate (5.3%) over the final 20 games of the season he could find the back of the net a few more times.
