Adam Larsson (back) isn't ready to resume practices or playing yet, but he is doing better as he continues to skate on his own. Larsson has been sidelined since Feb. 2 with a bruised back. "It's not more serious in that there's nothing else going on there," coach Pete DeBoer said. "But when you have a bone bruise - as opposed to a muscle bruise, I guess, I'm not a doctor - they're more painful. They're longer to heal. So, it's not more than we thought it was. He's getting better every day. He had probably his best day today, but he's still not ready to play."

Adam Larsson skated on Monday, but he isn't expected to return from his bruised lower back on Tuesday night in Buffalo. He has missed the last five games with the ailment.

Adam Larsson won't participate in the NHL's All-Star weekend in Ottawa because of a sore wrist. "Adam Larsson came to me and mentioned that his wrist has been very sore and he doesn't feel it will be in his best interest or the team's (to participate in All-Star weekend)," GM Lou Lamoriello said. "For a 19-year-old to make that decision on his own is just tremendous. He's not going anywhere. He informed his family he wasn't going. He's staying here and getting treatments. He wants to be ready to play next week." Larrson logged 26:15 of ice time in Tuesday's shootout loss to Buffalo and should be available to play next Tuesday versus the New York Rangers.

Adam Larsson (personal) will return to New Jersey's lineup on Wednesday night. He missed two games to attend his grandmother's funeral in Sweden. Larsson leads all NHL rookie blueliners with 13 points in 33 games this season.
