With Marek Zidlicky re-signed, Adam Larsson's task of making the Devils' opening game roster has been made that much more difficult. The Devils now have five defensemen signed to one-way contracts and a sixth that will almost certainly make the team in Jon Merrill. That doesn't leave much room for Larsson, who spent a good chunk of the 2013-14 campaign in the minors. Devils GM Lou Lamoriello said that the team still might make other moves in that regard though, so it's possible that New Jersey plans to move or even buy out a defenseman. Meanwhile, Larsson is scheduled to become a restricted free agent this summer.
