According to SI's Peter King, there are "many more football people" who think Tim Tebow with the Jets is a "dumb idea than those who think it's smart." One GM believes the move will "ruin" Mark Sanchez. "(Sanchez) can't take the booing as it is. With Tebow subbing for him every game and the pressure to get the ball to Santonio Holmes, Sanchez will crack.'' King believes coach Rex Ryan is serious about using Tebow up to 20 snaps per game, and that he could play "with the field spread, near the goal line (and) on two-point conversions."

According to the Florida Times Union, the Broncos began "quietly shopping" Tim Tebow at the Scouting Combine. It's a smoking gun that the Broncos were looking to unload Tebow regardless of whether or not they landed Peyton Manning, as the Combine began a full two weeks before Manning's release from the Colts. It's quite possible Tebow would have lost a camp competition even if he had remained in Denver and the Broncos whiffed on Manning.

Speaking at his introductory Jets press conference, Tim Tebow said "whatever my role is, I'm going to try to expand it." Tebow also confirmed he was given some say in where he would be traded, and insisted he has a "great relationship" with Mark Sanchez. He said he would have "loved" to be traded to his hometown of Jacksonville, but that he was most intrigued about being a Jet thanks in part to his relationship with coach Rex Ryan. The two share an agent. If the media throng in attendance was any indication, "Tebowmania" is going to be taken to a whole new level in 2012.

In an NFL Network interview Sunday, coach Rex Ryan suggested Tim Tebow could play up to 20 snaps a game in the Jets' Wildcat package. It's roughly a third of a game's projected offensive snaps, and sometimes more depending on time of possession. As Jenny Vrentas of the Newark Star-Ledger notes, 20 snaps is more plays than the Jets ran the Wildcat all last season. The Jets are intent on running a Wildcat-heavy offense, so we wouldn't put it past Ryan and Tony Sparano to get Tebow regular snaps and touches. Mark Sanchez won't be happy coming off the field so often.

According to the New York Daily News, Tim Tebow chose the Jets over the Jaguars in large part because he "sees a clear path" to the starting quarterback job. Who can blame Tebow for believing he can beat out a quarterback who regressed in major fashion last season? Per Pro Football Focus, Sanchez was one of four starting quarterbacks with a lower passing grade than Tebow last year. If Sanchez doesn't show substantial improvement -- all the while battling the Tebow circus -- there could be a new starter in New York by mid-season.

The Jets' trade for Tim Tebow won't become official until Saturday due to another contract technicality. Tebow must sign a re-written contract and stay on the Broncos' salary cap for 24 hours. His press conference in New York has been delayed until Monday, but he's already toured the facility and participated in a conference call with local media. Jaguars fans shouldn't get excited about this latest contract snag. Tebow will be a Jet by Saturday.

Speaking on a conference call Wednesday night, Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum insisted that the club has big plans for Tim Tebow as a Wildcat quarterback. Coach Rex Ryan spent an entire week practicing the Wildcat leading up to an early-December game against the Redskins, so the idea is not new at Jets headquarters. Tannenbaum repeatedly called Tebow a "dynamic playmaker," and insisted the team "believes" the Wildcat is "very difficult to defend." The Wildcat can be snuffed out by run blitzes, and is most definitely a fad more than a sustainable style of offense. Tannenbaum did confirm Tebow will be No. 2 on the depth chart, ahead of Drew Stanton and Greg McElroy.

Jets acquired QB Tim Tebow and a 2012 seventh-round pick from the Broncos in exchange for 2012 fourth- and sixth-round picks. They're the same terms originally decided upon by both clubs. Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Jets agreed to pay half of Tebow's $5 million "kick back" after a day of contemplating whether Tebow was worth it. Tebow is still only expected to be a third-stringer and package-type player in New York, but things can change quickly behind a starter as inconsistent as Mark Sanchez. Don't be surprised if Tebow starts multiple games under center in 2012.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Broncos will allow Tim Tebow to choose his next team, either the Jaguars or the Jets. The Broncos apparently have similar offers from Jacksonville and New York, so they're leaving it up to Timmy. The obvious decision is the Jaguars because Tebow is from Jacksonville, and the Jags don't have a quarterback who was just guaranteed $20.5 million on a new five-year contract. Tebow has surprised us before, however. We'd expect a decision within the next 24 hours.

NFL Network's Mike Lombardi is "hearing" that the Jaguars are close to acquiring Tim Tebow from the Broncos.
