Reggie Wayne was forced from Sunday night's Week 7 game against the Broncos with a right knee sprain.
Wayne twisted his knee on a pass underthrown by Andrew Luck in the fourth quarter and had to be helped off the field. He was taken to the locker room for further testing and is done for the game. Wayne had five catches for 50 yards on seven targets before exiting. The full details of the sprain aren't yet available, but Wayne will have a full week to rest up during the Colts' Week 8 bye.

Reggie Wayne caught five passes for 88 yards in Week 6 against the Chargers.
Wayne was targeted a team-high eight times, along with T.Y. Hilton. The soon-to-be 35-year-old became the ninth player ever to catch 1,000 passes. He now sits in eighth place all time, one spot ahead of Hines Ward and 23 receptions behind Isaac Bruce. Wayne's night didn't go entirely smoothly. He committed one of the team's five drops on a third-down pass that would have moved the chains. Wayne is more of a WR2 in the Colts' run-first offense. Denver is the next test.

Reggie Wayne caught six balls for 65 yards and a two-point conversion in the Colts' Week 5 win over Seattle.
The Colts are now 4-1, with their lone loss coming against the Dolphins. Wayne shook off two early-game drops to make plays in Brandon Browner and Walter Thurmond III's coverage, mostly avoiding LCB Richard Sherman. The Colts' leader in targets and one of the top route runners in football, Wayne has been a stable, consistent WR2 through five weeks. He'll be a borderline WR1 play against the Chargers' weak secondary and pass rush in Week 6.

Reggie Wayne caught five balls for 100 yards and a touchdown in the Colts' Week 4 win over Jacksonville.
He was targeted a team-high 11 times. Through four weeks, Wayne is on pace for 88 catches, 1,200 yards, and eight TDs. Although the Colts' lack of passing-game volume will likely cap Wayne's WR1 potential, he's squarely in the mix as an every-week WR2. Start Wayne against Seattle in Week 5; he plays frequently in the slot and should avoid Richard Sherman's shadow for most of the snaps.

Reggie Wayne caught seven balls for 79 yards in the Colts' third preseason game Saturday night.
Wayne told reporters in June he was "still trying to figure out" new OC Pep Hamilton's offense. He's got a good grip, alright. Through three preseason affairs, 34-year-old Wayne has 11 receptions for 121 yards and a touchdown, continuing to be Andrew Luck's clear-cut No. 1 receiver. Wayne is worth fantasy-draft consideration beginning in the fourth round of standard leagues. He's likely to have a better PPR year due to declining big-play ability.

Reggie Wayne fully expects to play through the duration of his contract, which expires after the 2014 season.
This season, Wayne is aiming to become the 13th receiver to ever record 1,000 yards or more at age 35 or older. It shouldn't be a problem. Although he hasn't topped 12.8 YPC in any of the last four campaigns, Wayne's precise route-running led to a 106 catches for 1,355 yards and five touchdowns last year. The apple of Andrew Luck's eye, he tied for second in the entire league with 194 targets. Wayne isn't a sexy pick, but he's on the WR2 radar.

Reggie Wayne hauled in nine passes for 114 yards at Baltimore in the Wild Card round of the playoffs.
Wayne saw a whopping 18 targets as Andrew Luck's money receiver. Moving past Michael Irvin (87) and Hines Ward (88) into second place behind Jerry Rice (151) on the post-season receptions list, Wayne also sits fifth in receiving yards. It was the third 100-yard playoff game of Wayne's career. Although the 34 year old faded down the stretch while finishing 14th in fantasy points, he's worth drafting as a WR2 again next season.

Reggie Wayne was held to four catches for 40 yards in Sunday's win over the Texans.
Despite being targeted 12 times, the Texans were able to contain Wayne and limit him from making any big plays downfield. The Colts' offense was forced to go conservative in the second half after getting a 102-yard kick return from Deji Karim and two interceptions from Vontae Davis. Coming off a down season in 2011, Wayne rebounded with a 106/1,355/5 line this year with Andrew Luck at quarterback. The Colts already secured a Wild Card birth, but are now set to play the Ravens in the first round of the playoffs.

Reggie Wayne said he wants to play in Week 17 even though the Colts are locked into the AFC's No. 5 seed.
What Wayne wants probably won't be what he gets. The Colts coaches have not yet revealed their plans for Sunday's game against the Texans, but it's hard to see their starters playing a full game. The focus will be on preparing for a road game during Wild Card weekend, not preventing the Texans from clinching the No. 1 seed.
