Sanchez did not play in Saturday's preseason game as Trevor Siemian appears to have secured the starting quarterback job, Denver ABC 7 reports.
EDGE Analysis
After a poor preseason, it looks all but certain that Sanchez will be cut and not make the final roster. Denver will save $3.5 million in salary cap space and not lose a 7th-round draft pick if they cut Sanchez.

Sanchez will be the third quarterback to enter Saturday's preseason game against the Rams, NFL Network's James Palmer reports.
EDGE Analysis
This is yet another sign that Sanchez has fallen behind Trevor Siemian in the battle for Denver's starting quarterback job. While not necessarily out of the picture, Sanchez may not even make the final roster if the Broncos decide that Siemian is the starter and Paxton Lynch is ready to serve as the backup.

Sanchez might not make the team if Trevor Siemian earns the starting job and Paxton Lynch proves to be a suitable No. 2, The Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
The rationale makes sense. Siemian and Lynch are almost certain to be on the team - in some order on the depth chart - in 2017 and so if one is capable of starting and one is capable of backing up, it would make sense to move forward with that twosome in 2016, develop the team's young talent at quarterback and save money by cutting Sanchez. The same logic would apply should Lynch come out and earn the starting job with Siemian clearly capable of serving as the back up. Sanchez, who had a hold on the starting job up until a few weeks ago, has moved the ball well in both preseason games, but has also turned the ball over three times - more than Lynch and Siemian combined.

ESPN's Jeff Legwold suggests that Trevor Siemian -- who is slated to start Saturday's preseason game against the Rams -- has a leg up at this time on both Sanchez and Paxton Lynch.
EDGE Analysis
It's unclear whether Sanchez or Lynch will enter Saturday's game after Siemian, though coach Gary Kubiak said Monday that they all are "going to play an equal amount." In any case, where Sanchez was once the favorite to hold things down at QB for Denver until Lynch (drafted 26th overall in April) was ready to take over, it now looks as though Siemian will need to falter this weekend in order to not claim the team's top job at the position.

Sanchez will receive equal playing time to both Trevor Siemian and Paxton Lynch in Saturday's preseason game against the Rams, but Siemian will start at quarterback, ESPN's Jeff Legwold reports.
EDGE Analysis
Sanchez started the Broncos' preseason opener, but made way for Siemian to start Denver's game against the 49ers over the weekend. In that contest, Sanchez completed 10 of his 17 passes for 120 yards, but lost two fumbles. Although Siemian didn't fare much better and the rookie Lynch got to close the game again, Siemian will be handed another start this weekend. That being said, all three quarterbacks will get equal playing time against Los Angeles, giving them a final opportunity to grab hold of Denver's starting job before coach Gary Kubiak names his man next week.

Trevor Siemian will start the Broncos' third preseason game against the Rams, Siemian (shoulder) will get the start in the Broncos' third preseason game against the Rams, Jeff Legwold of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The news is a blow to Sanchez, the team's presumed starter entering camp, as the third preseason game is often when starters are featured the most. Head coach Gary Kubiak has said that he plans to announce the team's starter next week - making Saturday the final audition. Sanchez will get his chance to bounce back as all three Denver quarterbacks are expected to split time evenly during the game. Sanchez and Siemian have each led Denver to an early touchdown drive this preseason, but Sanchez has struggled with turnovers, committing three to Siemian's one.

Sanchez completed 10 of 17 passes for 120 yards in Saturday's preseason game against the 49ers, but he also took three sacks and lost two fumbles.
EDGE Analysis
As expected, Trevor Siemian got the starting nod, after Sanchez started Denver's first preseason game. There was no clear winner Saturday night, as Sanchez lost a pair of fumbles and Siemian threw an ugly pick-six. Paxton Lynch wasn't much better, completing 15 of 26 passes for 113 yards, with two touchdowns and an interception. This battle could continue through the end of the preseason, and the winner will likely have a short leash.

Sanchez completed 10 of 13 passes for 99 yards, with a touchdown and an interception, in Thursday's preseason opener against the Bears.
EDGE Analysis
As planned, Sanchez played the first quarter, with Trevor Siemian taking over for the second quarter. Sanchez got off to a strong start, completing a 32-yard touchdown to Demaryius Thomas while absorbing a big hit, but the veteran QB then threw a bad interception into traffic on the following drive. Siemian avoided big mistakes and led a pair of field goal drives, but he only completed seven of 12 passes for 88 yards. Neither quarterback gained any separation in the battle, which seemingly works in Sanchez's favor.

Sanchez will start and play the entire first quarter of Thursday's preseason opener against the Bears, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.
EDGE Analysis
Sanchez and Trevor Siemian are listed as co-starters on the Broncos' first unofficial depth chart of the preseason, but it will be Sanchez getting the nod when the first-team offense takes the field Thursday night, though Siemian might also get some snaps with the starters. Paxton Lynch, meanwhile, is expected to play the entire second half.

Sanchez is tied atop the depth chart with Trevor Siemian, the team's official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
The depth chart confirms what has been reported from camp - that Siemian is staying neck and neck with Sanchez. The fact that Sanchez is struggling to beat out a seventh-round pick from last year might be more of a knock against him than an accomplishment from Siemian. Coupled with a progressing Paxton Lynch, who the team reportedly wants to put on the field at some point in 2016, Sanchez is no longer the sure-starter he appeared to be back in April.
