Fields (ankle) is listed as inactive Sunday versus the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
The writing was on the wall for Fields when coach Matt Nagy named Andy Dalton (hand) the Bears' Week 17 starter at quarterback and Nick Foles the No. 2 on Friday. Fields has yet to put in anything more than a limited practice since injuring his ankle in a Week 15 loss to the Vikings, meaning he may need to get back to all activity before Nagy feels comfortable enough for the rookie signal-caller to return to action. While Fields will sit for the fourth time in six games, his next opportunity to play will come next Sunday at Minnesota.

Fields (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Giants, but he's unlikely to be available after head coach Matt Nagy said Andy Dalton will start the contest and Nick Foles will serve as the No. 2 quarterback, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Fields was a limited participant in all three of the Bears' practices this week, but the rookie apparently didn't demonstrate enough progress to make Nagy feel comfortable with having him start. Look for Fields to be included on the Bears' Week 17 inactive list for the second straight week, allowing Dalton to claim the starting job from Foles as he returns from a one-game absence due to a fractured non-throwing hand. According to Biggs, Nagy said Fields is "going to do everything he can to get back next week," which seems to suggest the Bears aren't planning on shutting him down for the Jan. 9 season finale in Minnesota.

Fields (ankle) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice.
EDGE Analysis
The limited activity marks no change from Wednesday, making it tough to gauge whether Fields is on track to be available for Sunday's game against the Giants. According to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune, head coach Matt Nagy said Wednesday that Fields would need to be "extremely healthy" to play this weekend, perhaps suggesting that the rookie will have to put in a full practice by Friday in order to return to the lineup. Andy Dalton, meanwhile, practiced fully for the second day in a row Thursday after sitting out the Bears' Week 16 win over the Seahawks with a groin injury, which may be enough to put him in the driver's seat for the Week 17 start.

Fields (ankle) was a limited practice participant Wednesday, while fellow Bears QB Andy Dalton (groin) returned to full participation.
EDGE Analysis
Earlier Wednesday, coach Matt Nagy said it was still too early to determine a starter for Sunday's game against the Giants, though he did mention that Fields would need to be "extremely healthy" to play, per Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune. In other words, the Bears won't rush their first-round pick back into action at the end of a non-playoff season, but they're still open to playing him if/when he's truly healthy. His work on the practice field this week figures to be a big part of that evaluation.

Fields (ankle) is inactive for Sunday's game in Seattle, Adam Hoge of NBC Sports Chicago reports.
EDGE Analysis
Fields emerged from last Monday's loss to the Vikings with an ankle injury that only allowed him to practice one time this past week. On Friday, coach Matt Nagy named Nick Foles as the Bears' Week 16 starter at quarterback with Andy Dalton (left hand/groin) ruled out and Fields' status in question. With Fields unavailable Sunday, Ryan Willis will serve as Foles' backup.

Fields (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game in Seattle.
EDGE Analysis
Fields kicked off Week 16 prep with a limited listing on the Bears' injury report, only to not participate in any drills once the team took the practice field Thursday and Friday. Coach Matt Nagy announced that Nick Foles will start at quarterback for the Bears this weekend, and it's to be determined whether Fields will be able to serve as the backup, per Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic. If Fields eventually is inactive Sunday, practice squad member Ryan Willis would serve as the No. 2 to Foles.

Fields (ankle) didn't practice Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
The Bears held a walkthrough Wednesday, after which Fields was listed as a limited participant. Now that the team returned to a normal session, though, he didn't take part in any drills. It's unclear if Fields' ankle issue is putting him in danger of being absent Sunday in Seattle, but Andy Dalton (left hand/groin) was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list Thursday and practiced in full. An inactive Fields would yield quarterback duties to Dalton.

Fields (ankle) will be listed as a limited participant on Wednesday's estimated practice report, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Fields reportedly hurt his ankle during Monday's 17-9 loss to the Vikings, but it doesn't sound like anything serious given that he never left the game and might've been healthy enough for a limited practice Wednesday (if the Bears hadn't held an indoors walkthrough). In any case, the rookie figures to get another start this Sunday in Seattle, with Andy Dalton (reserve/COVID-19) and Nick Foles on hand in case Fields' ankle takes an unexpected turn for the worse.

Fields completed 26 of 39 passes for 285 yards and one touchdown while adding 35 yards on seven rushes in the Bears' 17-9 loss to the Vikings on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Fields could've had a much better game, but the coaching staff chose to go with a run-heavy approach for the first three quarters despite facing a Vikings defense that was one to target. Once the Bears were down by 14 points in the fourth quarter, the team finally turned Fields loose, and he had two drives in which he moved the Bears down the field, but threw a number of incomplete passes in the end zone. However, with time expiring, he threw a touchdown to Jesper Horsted to salvage his fantasy day. He'll finish the fantasy playoffs with a pair of favorable matchups against the Seahawks and Giants, and his rushing ability should give him a reasonable scoring floor with potential for upside.

Fields (hand) was listed as a full participant on Thursday's estimated practice report.
EDGE Analysis
Field bruised his left hand during Sunday's loss at Green Bay, a contest in which he completed 18 of 33 passes for 224 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions while taking nine carries for 74 yards. But the injury didn't impact his ability to handle every rep at Thursday's walkthrough, which can't be said for Andy Dalton (left hand), who was a non-participant. If Dalton doesn't gain clearance to play Monday against the Vikings, Nick Foles again would serve as Fields' backup.
