Jets coach Aaron Glenn declined Monday to name Fields or Tyrod Taylor as the team's starting quarterback for Thursday's divisional matchup on the road against New England, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Glenn waited until the last moment to name Fields the starter for Sunday's 27-20 win over the Browns despite having had a Week 9 bye to prepare, and per Al Iannazzone of Newsday, the head coach said he wouldn't "waste [his] time" answering questions about the quarterback situation entering Thursday's divisional contest. Fantasy managers in need of a Week 11 starter may need to roster both Fields and Taylor -- or, better yet, avoid the situation entirely -- until an official decision is announced. Fields struggled again despite eking out a win versus Cleveland, completing just six of 11 passes for 54 yards, one touchdown and one interception, with most of his passing yards coming on a 42-yard touchdown to Breece Hall on a screen pass. Part of Fields' issues can be attributed to Garrett Wilson (knee) having been forced out before securing a single catch, but with the No. 1 wideout now seemingly trending in the wrong direction for Week 11, it will be difficult to trust any part of New York's passing game regardless of who lines up under center.

Fields completed six of 11 passes for 54 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Sunday's 27-20 win over the Browns. He added seven rushing attempts for 28 yards.
EDGE Analysis
Fields threw for five yards and an interception in the first half, but the game was tied 17-17 at halftime thanks to two special-teams touchdowns by the Jets. He was credited for 42 passing yards when Breece Hall turned a fourth-quarter screen pass into a 42-yard touchdown, but Fields generated only 12 passing yards the rest of the game. The Jets seem unlikely to demote Fields after winning consecutive games, but head coach Aaron Glenn hasn't committed to a definitive starter between Fields and Tyrod Taylor under center, and Fields didn't inspire much confidence ahead of Thursday's game against the Patriots.

Matt Zenitz of CBSSports.com reports that the Jets will have Fields start in Sunday's game against the Browns.
EDGE Analysis
Head coach Aaron Glenn did not commit to naming Fields or Tyrod Taylor during Week 10 prep, but it appears the Jets will go with Fields as the starter for Sunday's home contest while Taylor serves as the backup. Fields helped lead the Jets to their first win of the regular season against the Bengals in Week 8, when he completed 21 of 32 passes for 244 yards and one touchdown while turning 11 carries into 31 yards.

Fields is expected to start Sunday's game against the Browns, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports, though coach Aaron Glenn hasn't named a starting quarterback between Fields and Tyrod Taylor.
EDGE Analysis
Glenn continues to play it coy with the Jets' quarterback situation. Fields was benched for Taylor at halftime in Week 7 against the Panthers, but a knee injury prevented Taylor from suiting up in Week 8, paving the way for Fields to start and pick up the Jets' first win of the season against the Bengals prior to a Week 9 bye. Taylor has recovered and doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game, but Fields has likely earned at least one more start after his victorious outing last time out.

Head coach Aaron Glenn declined Monday to commit to Fields as the Jets' starter after the team's Week 9 bye, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Glenn praised Fields' performance during Sunday's 39-38 win over the Bengals, saying he "managed the game really well," while also noting that "there are still some things within that game that [Fields] knows he has to improve on." Still, Glenn did not reveal whether Fields or Tyrod Taylor will start under center at home against the Browns on Sunday, Nov. 9. Taylor seemed to be trending toward the start versus Cincinnati prior to being ruled out with a knee injury, but Fields' performance may have been sufficient to earn him further time in the No. 1 seat. Whoever is under center Week 10 could benefit from the return of WR Garrett Wilson (knee).

Fields completed 21 of 32 passes for 244 yards and a touchdown while rushing 11 times for 31 yards in Sunday's 39-38 win over the Bengals. He also ran in a two-point conversion and threw a successful two-point conversion.
EDGE Analysis
After speculation that the Jets could turn to Tyrod Taylor under center due to Fields' recent struggles, Fields got the start by default once Taylor (knee) was ruled out before the game. Fields threw a 15-yard touchdown pass to Tyler Johnson in the second quarter to keep the game close enough for Breece Hall to take over in the fourth. Hall ran in two touchdowns, then the running back threw the game-winning touchdown pass on a trick play just after the two-minute warning. After leading the Jets to their first win of the season, Fields is probably the favorite to start in Week 10 against the Browns following a Week 9 bye, though it will be worth monitoring how the Jets distribute practice reps between Fields and Taylor.

Fields will be the Jets' starting quarterback against the Bengals on Sunday after Tyrod Taylor was ruled out due to a knee injury, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Fields' grip on the starting job looked to be loosening after he was benched at halftime during the Jets' Week 7 loss against the Panthers, when he completed six of 12 passes for 46 yards while turning four carries into 22 yards. Fields and Taylor opened Week 8 prep splitting reps with the first-team offense, and while head coach Aaron Glenn stayed mum on naming a starter for Week 8, Taylor's knee injury is severe enough for him to not travel with the team to Cincinnati. Fields and the Jets' offense will be without top wideouts Garrett Wilson (knee) and Josh Reynolds (hip), while Breece Hall (knee) and rookie tight end Mason Taylor (quadriceps) are listed as questionable for Week 8. Undrafted rookie Brady Cook is expected to be elevated from the practice squad to the active roster to serve as the Jets' backup QB in Taylor's absence.

Head coach Aaron Glenn declined to declare a starter Friday between Fields or Tyrod Taylor (knee) for Sunday's game against the Bengals, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Glenn has made a decision but refuses to publicly announce it, so a starter for Sunday's game may not be revealed until shortly prior to the 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff in Cincinnati. Fields, who was benched for Taylor at halftime of the Jets' Week 7 loss to the Panthers, could get the job by default if Taylor's knee injury keeps the veteran sidelined against the Bengals. Taylor's listed as questionable.

Fields said Wednesday that he hasn't been told if he or Tyrod Taylor (knee) is in line to start Sunday's game against the Bengals, Connor Hughes of SNY.tv reports.
EDGE Analysis
Coach Aaron Glenn noted Wednesday that Taylor was managing a knee issue, but that didn't prevent the QB from splitting practice reps with Fields in the Jets' ensuing practice. With that in mind, it doesn't appears as though Taylor's Week 8 status is in any danger, which keeps him in contention to draw the start this weekend for the 0-7 Jets. Per Rich Cimini of ESPN, Glenn declined to name the team's starter Wednesday while indicating that he wants to create a competitive advantage by keeping Cincinnati guessing which signal-caller to game plan for.

Jets coach Aaron Glenn said Monday that he has not yet decided whether Fields or Tyrod Taylor will draw the start on the road against Cincinnati in Week 8.
EDGE Analysis
Fields has turned in back-to-back disastrous performances under center for New York, culminating in his being benched at halftime during the team's 12-6 loss to the Panthers in Week 6. Prior to being replaced by Taylor, Fields completed six of 12 passes for just 46 yards, with no touchdowns or interceptions, adding 22 yards on four carries. While part of Fields' struggles versus Carolina can be attributed to Garrett Wilson (knee) being inactive, he had been even worse Week 6 versus Denver in London, a loss in which he completed just nine of 17 pass attempts for 45 yards with zero touchdowns or interceptions while getting sacked an incredible nine times. The Jets will continue to evaluate the quarterback position before announcing a Week 8 starter, but at this stage, even with his rushing upside, Fields will be difficult to trust for fantasy purposes if he remains in the lineup.
