Gordon (abdomen) returned to practice Saturday, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports. Limited throughout most of the week by an abdominal injury, Gordon was back in pads Saturday morning and still has a chance to play in Monday's preseason game against the Redskins, according to coach Mike Pettine. Gordon suffered the injury in the Browns' first exhibition contest last weekend, but the team has said from the get-go that it's just a minor issue. Of more importance for prospective owners is the ruling on Gordon's suspension appeal, which could come down by the end of next week.

Gordon (abdominal) rode a stationary bike on the side during Friday's practice, and "isn't looking good" for Monday's preseason matchup with the Redskins, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. Gordon suffered an abdominal injury in Saturday's preseason opener, which has limited him in practice all week. Since he likely won't be participating in full team drills prior to Monday, it appears likely he won't suit up for the Browns' second exhibition tilt. More importantly, Gordon is expected to receive a ruling on his suspension appeal by the end of next week. If he's handed down a significant suspension, the Browns will likely try to get Miles Austin, Nate Burleson and Andrew Hawkins heavy first-team reps to prepare for their time without him. Travis Benjamin and Charles Johnson could also find themselves in the mix in this scenario.

Gordon (suspension) was not on the practice field Wednesday, ESPN Cleveland reports. Gordon returned to practice Tuesday despite abdominal discomfort, but missed his second practice in three days Wednesday. The abdominal injury remains the least of his worries, however, as a ruling on his potential season-long suspension is set to be handed down by the league at some point this week or next. In the meantime, Travis Benjamin has excelled on the practice field in Gordon's absence, and could be one of the candidates to see increased reps while he serves his suspension.

Gordon's injury that prevented him from practicing Monday is to his abdominal area, the Akron Beacon Journal reports. Gordon's ailment was previously unspecified. No matter, the wideout's abdominal injury is not considered serious and he was only held out of Monday's practice as a precaution taken by the Browns' training staff. Meanwhile, Gordon still awaits a decision from the NFL regarding his appeal of a potential season-long suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

Gordon was held out of Monday's practice with a minor unspecified injury, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports. Coach Mike Pettine noted that Gordon wanted to practice Monday, but the team's trainers elected to hold the receiver out. Meanwhile, Gordon continues to wait for a decision from the NFL regarding the potential season-long suspension that he faces.

Gordon (suspension) evidently suffered a minor unspecified injury in Saturday's preseason game against the Lions, ESPN.com reports. According to coach Mike Pettine, the receiver "got nicked" up in Saturday's contest, but while the injury seems to be a minor concern, of more import is that Gordon continues to await word from the NFL regarding a potential season-long suspension.

Gordon (suspension) caught two passes on four targets for 32 yards in Saturday's preseason opener against the Lions. Gordon continues to await word from the NFL regarding his potential season-long suspension, but in the meantime, he's working with the first-team offense under quarterback Brian Hoyer. Regardless of which quarterback takes the reigns for Cleveland if/when Gordon is cleared to play, last season's receiving yardage leader will be a top fantasy wideout when that time comes. However, the uncertainty will continue to cloud his fantasy value until further notice.

Gordon, who is awaiting word from the NFL on his appeal of a potential year-long suspension, is slated to see his share of action in Saturday's preseason opener against the Lions, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. "I think we'll mix him in," coach Mike Pettine said Wednesday. "I wouldn't be surprised to see him out there some with the ones, some with the twos and maybe, even into the second half." Meanwhile, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer suggests that the Browns are preparing themselves for at least an eight-game suspension for Gordon, but that's portrayed by the report as a best-case scenario, which the team isn't counting on. In any case, until the league's ruling is handed down, Gordon will be able to continue to practice and suit up for preseason action.

Gordon, who practiced with the Browns on Monday, doesn't expect a ruling on his appeal (of a potential year-long suspension from the league) for at least a week, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. Gordon's appeal hearing ran through Monday, but now that it has been closed, the wideout awaits the league's ruling, with the report hinting that the delivery of a decision may take as long as three weeks. Until then, Gordon will be able to work with his teammates, with the Browns' initial depth chart in advance of Saturday's preseason opener against the Lions listing him as a starting wideout, along with Miles Austin.
