Gordon, who practiced with the Browns on Monday, doesn't expect a ruling on his appeal (of a potential year-long suspension from the league) for at least a week, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Gordon's appeal hearing ran through Monday, but now that it has been closed, the wideout awaits the league's ruling, with the report hinting that the delivery of a decision may take as long as three weeks. Until then, Gordon will be able to work with his teammates, with the Browns' initial depth chart in advance of Saturday's preseason opener against the Lions listing him as a starting wideout, along with Miles Austin.
He'll get 4-6 games. There's no way they suspend him the whole year after the Ray Rice verdict. The only reason I can see him getting more games than Rice is because Goodell can harp on calling him a "repeat offender."
Just go beat your girlfriend, drive drunk, or pull a gun out. Goodell seems to have a soft spot for those kinds of "projects" and will probly let you off with simply having to buy him dinner at McDonalds..
Unreal! Make a decision already...in or out. It would be nice to know before drafts...whether to keep him or not, but regardless, 3 weeks to make a decision? Geez.
I don't think the question is whether or not he's "innocent"; I think it's pretty clear the dude likes to take his 4:20 break. I think the question is going to be how long he should be suspended for it.
The NFLPA wants it to be all or nothing. The rules can be abitrated if a deal is reached. With the inconsistencies in the testing process I don't think a neutral third party will suspend him for a year. I find that hard to believe.
