Coach Andy Reid revealed Wednesday that Jeremy Maclin has "taken every snap" in recent Eagles practices, in addition to confirming that Maclin will play Sunday against St. Louis.
Maclin missed all of training camp, but he'll have had about 15 days under his belt with the first-team offense before Philly's Week 1 game. Maclin was listed as the Eagles' starting "X" receiver (split end) on their post-preseason depth chart. We'd be surprised if Maclin didn't draw the start over Riley Cooper.

Jeremy Maclin will play in Sunday's opener against the Rams.
Maclin has been back at practice for more than a week and says he feels just fine. Even though he didn't play in any preseason games, owners could do much worse for a WR2/3. He appears ticketed for the majority of snaps opposite DeSean Jackson.

Jeremy Maclin told ESPN's Sal Paolantonio Tuesday that he will start the season opener against the Rams.
"I feel fine. I feel ready," Maclin said. The Eagles' leading receiver from last season practiced Sunday and felt "all right conditioning-wise." After surviving his mysterious illness in training camp, Maclin should begin climbing back up draft boards as a WR2.

Jeremy Maclin (illness) made his 2011 practice debut on Saturday.
A huge step for the Eagles' No. 2 wideout, who has guaranteed he will be ready for Philadelphia's season opener against the Rams. Currently just the 52nd player off the board by average draft position, Maclin is likely to get off to a slow start this season, but is good bet to ultimately build on a 2010 where he hauled in 70 catches for 964 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Jeremy Maclin told Eagles Television Network during Thursday's preseason game that there's "no doubt" he will be in the lineup for the season opener in St. Louis.
"Definitely," Maclin continued. "I'll be able to play in the last preseason game if they let me." Maclin has been working to get back in football condition while catching passes from Michael Vick. He's scheduled to resume practicing Saturday, another positive sign. The return of the Eagles' leading receiver is welcome news for Vick, who got little help from his receivers against the Browns.

Eagles coach Andy Reid confirmed that Jeremy Maclin's conditioning remains an issue after he lost 15 pounds during the offseason while battling a mono-like virus.
"He obviously has to get in better shape," said Reid. Maclin insists he's back to his playing weight, but the offseason fluctuation and inability to do any physical activity has him well behind the curve. On Monday, Reid wouldn't commit to Maclin being ready for Week 1. Expect a slow start to Maclin's season.

Jeremy Maclin (illness) told beat writer Jeff McLane Saturday that he's currently at his playing weight.
While we doubt that Maclin has already put back on the 15 pounds he reportedly lost this offseason, it's not unreasonable to think that he'll be on the field (and effective) come Week 1. The speedy wide receiver will need some time to return to midseason form, but things are looking up.

Eagles HC Andy Reid believes WR Jeremy Maclin (illness) will be ready to practice in a "week or so."
That jibes with what head trainer Rick Burkholder said on Wednesday. Maclin is still not without risk following an offseason and training camp spent mostly off the practice field, but it would be an upset if he wasn't ready for Week 1.

Eagles trainer Rick Burkholder clarified Wednesday that Jeremy Maclin (illness) has been medically cleared to "run and lift," not practice.
Burkholder, who acknowledged that Maclin is dealing with inflammation after lymph-node surgery, says the third-year receiver could practice in "7-10 days" if there are no setbacks during that period. A FOX Sports report earlier in the day, via Maclin himself, indicated that he'd been cleared for football activities, but that's not the case just yet. Maclin finished the 2010 season as the No. 13 overall fantasy receiver. We wouldn't expect to see him in that kind of form for awhile.

ESPN's Chris Mortensen confirms that Jeremy Maclin (illness) showed up to Eagles camp with a "lack of energy" and "weight loss" in late July.
A normal hemoglobin count is 14, but Maclin was down to 10. A Wednesday test confirmed no life-threatening disease, but he'd lost 15 pounds as recently as two weeks ago. It's impossible to say when Maclin will be himself again.
