Doyle, who underwent season-ending surgery in November to address a lacerated kidney admitted Sunday that he could require another procedure during the offseason to address a hip/lower-back injury, Kevin Bowen of 1070 The Fan Indianapolis reports.
EDGE Analysis
Doyle first developed the hip issue in Week 2 and missed five straight weeks before returning to game action Week 8 in Oakland. He would go on to play four consecutive contests before being shut down for good when he required the emergency surgery for his kidney. While Doyle noted that none of his health issues are considered career-threatening, he's still continuing to recover from the November surgery and could get his hip fixed while he's on the mend. For what it's worth, Doyle said he expects to be ready to go for OTAs in April, but that's far from a certain thing at this juncture.

Coach Frank Reich said Wednesday that Doyle (kidney) was discharged from the hospital and is "doing well" in his recovery from surgery, Andrew Walker of the Colts' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Though it wasn't announced that Doyle suffered an injury in Sunday's 27-24 win over the Dolphins, it was revealed a day later that he was hospitalized after requiring an emergency procedure to address the kidney concern. The Colts consequently moved Doyle to injured reserve, paving the way for Eric Ebron to act as the team's clear top target at tight end the rest of the season. Reich noted that Doyle is expected to make a "quick, speedy recovery" from the procedure, setting the 28-year-old up to enter the 2019 campaign at full strength. Doyle wrapped up an injury-plagued 2018 season with 26 receptions for 245 yards and two scores across six appearances.

Doyle will be placed on injured reserve after suffering a kidney injury during Sunday's 27-24 win over the Dolphins, Joel A. Erickson of The Indianapolis Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
Admitted to the hospital Sunday night, Doyle had a successful procedure and is expected to be released from the hospital soon, per Mike Chappell of Fox 59 News Indianapolis. Eric Ebron has proven more than capable of shouldering the pass-catching burden at tight end, but he's a clear downgrade from Doyle as a run blocker. The 2014 first-round pick drew 50 targets in five games when Doyle missed Weeks 3-7 with a hip injury. This doesn't sound like an issue with potential to impact Doyle's availability for 2019.

Doyle is expected to land on injured reserve after suffering an undisclosed injury during Sunday's 27-24 win over the Dolphins, Stephen Holder of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Doyle logged a season-low 38 snaps (55 percent) against Miami, hauling in each of his four targets for 16 yards and a touchdown. It's unclear if this is related to the hip injury that caused him to miss five consecutive games Weeks 3-7. Whatever the case, Eric Ebron should now have volume consistency to go with the enormous touchdown upside he's already displayed. Coach Frank Reich is expected to provide an update Monday afternoon/evening.

Doyle caught all four of his targets for 16 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 27-24 win over the Dolphins.
EDGE Analysis
Doyle's long gain went for just seven yards, but he salvaged his day from a fantasy perspective with a one-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter. Meanwhile, Eric Ebron enjoyed more targets and receiving yardage, adding a pair of touchdown grabs of his own. While still involved in the passing attack, Doyle has taken a backseat to Ebron and and T.Y. Hilton, who continue to thrive alongside Andrew Luck. He'll hope to make a bigger impact next Sunday against the Jaguars.

Doyle caught all four of his targets for 43 yards during Sunday's 38-10 win over Tennessee.
EDGE Analysis
After being sideline for an extended period with a hip injury, Doyle is still easing into things with seven catches for 79 yards in his past two games after a six-catch return in Week 8. His 14 targets since his return, as compared to Eric Ebron's six, shows how he's valued in Indianapolis, but Ebron has still arguably been more valuable with three touchdowns during that span to Doyle's one. Monitor whether Ebron continues to essentially vulture touchdowns from Doyle and the rest of Indy's receivers next Sunday against a middle-of-the-pack Miami defense.

Doyle had three receptions for 36 yards on three targets in Sunday's win over Jacksonville.
EDGE Analysis
After Doyle had six receptions and seven targets last week in his first game back after missing five games due to a hip injury, it looked like he would dominate the targets at tight end. His performance was underwhelming and paled in comparison to Eric Ebron's three-touchdown performance. However, it's worth noting that Ebron played just 21 snaps on offense while Doyle played 48 snaps and Ebron had a similar number of targets.

Doyle caught six of seven targets for 70 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 42-28 win over the Raiders.
EDGE Analysis
A hip injury had kept Doyle out since Week 2, but he returned in style, leading the team in receiving yards. The highlight of his day was a 10-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. Fellow tight end Eric Ebron also found pay dirt in this one, showing that the talented pair should be able to coexist after the team's Week 9 bye.

Doyle (hip) does not carry an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Raiders after practicing fully Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Doyle is thus poised to see his first game action since injuring his hip in Week 2 action. Upon his return, he should re-emerge as a key target for QB Andrew Luck, though the presence of fellow tight end Eric Ebron, who handled a high-volume role in Doyle's absence, suggests that ample targets for Doyle may not be available every week. He therefore profiles as a hit-or-miss fantasy option in Week 8.

Doyle, who has missed five games due to a hip injury, is on track to play Sunday against the Raiders, Andrew Walker of the Colts' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
We'll have to see if Doyle ends up listed as questionable for Sunday's game, or heads into the weekend without an injury designation. His anticipated return would no doubt bolster the Colts' passing attack, but represents a hit to the fantasy upside of fellow tight end Eric Ebron.
