Fred Davis (Achilles') "appears to have recaptured his speed and explosiveness." Davis has shown no signs of the rupture that ended his 2012 season. Per the Washington Post, he "has run routes without limitation and gotten open, beating coverage by linebackers and safeties." An athletic and big (6'4/258) tight end with solid route-running chops, Davis should start creeping up draft boards. He was on pace for 54 catches and 742 yards before going down in Week 7 last year.

Fred Davis (Achilles') reiterated Wednesday that he's "full-go" for camp. "This is day six now and I haven't had any pain in it," Davis claimed. "I've been going full-go, blocking, running routes, cutting. I feel really good." Fantasy players may still have Davis' excellent 2011 in their heads, but coming off major injury in an offense he might not fit, he should be treated as a TE2.

Fred Davis (Achilles') has shown "no inkling of soreness" in training camp. Barring a setback, Davis already appears game ready. It's an impressive comeback for a player who went down just nine months ago, and the latest indication that Achilles' injuries are not as career-threatening as they once were. Davis is a middle-of-the-road TE2.

Fred Davis (Achilles') is active for the start of training camp. Davis ruptured his heel during Week 7 last year, but progressed quickly through rehab. He was able to run some routes and catch passes during May minicamps has now made good on a promise to be ready for training camp. A fluid pass catcher at 6'4/247, Davis is certainly on the TE2 radar.

Coach Mike Shanahan says Fred Davis (Achilles') will be held out of next week's minicamp. Shanahan "doesn't want" Davis to practice and instead wants to "use caution" and hold the tight end out until training camp, even though he could play in a game if he had to next week. There's no reason for the Redskins to rush Davis, but it's clear he's on track to be on the field in July.

Fred Davis (Achilles') was catching passes and running routes as the Redskins opened OTAs Thursday. Like Robert Griffin III (knee), Davis was not in uniform and worked off to the side. It's still encouraging to see him pivoting and moving well seven months after blowing out his heel. Beat writer Chris Russell said Davis "looks better than I thought."

Speaking in a Wednesday presser, Redskins coach Mike Shanahan said Fred Davis (Achilles) has made "strides," but that the team won't know how far he's progressed before OTAs. Davis is six months removed from tearing his Achilles' tendon against the Giants, and expects to be fully cleared by June. Despite Davis' bullish outlook, he's a strong candidate to begin camp on the active/PUP list, with a stint on reserve/PUP possible to begin the year.

Fred Davis (Achilles) expects to be cleared for full activity in June. Davis tore his left Achilles' tendon during the Week 7 loss to the Giants. He appears to be well ahead of the normal timeline for this injury as he's already running and is expected to be a full participant in training camp. The cap-strapped Redskins' willingness to give him a $1.5M signing bonus shows they're confident Davis will be their starting tight end come Week 1. Backup Logan Paulsen got a $1.1M signing bonus.
