Fred Davis (ankle) was spotted moving "gingerly" prior to Sunday's Week 3 loss to the Lions.
Davis rolled his ankle on the last play of practice on Friday. He woke up feeling soreness and swelling on Saturday. Davis is no lock to play in Week 4, and Jordan Reed is nursing a quad injury.

Fred Davis (ankle) is inactive for Sunday's Week 3 game against the Lions.
Davis was added to the injury report Saturday after injuring his ankle on Friday. Jordan Reed will likely get the start at tight end, while Logan Paulsen will see plenty of work as an in-line blocker. Reed is a back-end TE2 with some upside. Also inactive for the Redskins are K Kai Forbath, QB Rex Grossman, S Jose Gumbs, RB Evan Royster, DL Chris Baker, and OG Josh LeRibeus.

Fred Davis (ankle) was added to the Redskins' Week 3 injury report and is listed as questionable.
Davis was a full participant in practice this week, so he must have suffered the injury Friday afternoon. His status for this week's game against the Lions is now up in the air. Davis has just two catches for 25 yards through two games and was benched in the second half last week for missing some assignments as a blocker. Bump Jordan Reed up your Week 3 tight end rankings slightly.

Sources tell the Washington Post that Fred Davis was benched after blowing several missed assignments in Sunday's loss to the Packers.
Per the Post, there "could be a changing of the guard at tight end" for the Redskins. Davis played on just 16-of-61 snaps in Week 2 while intriguing third-round rookie Jordan Reed saw 29. Through two games, Davis has a mere two catches for 25 yards on six targets and Reed an 8/56/1 line on nine targets. Reed, a strict pass-catcher in the mold of Dustin Keller or Aaron Hernandez, is Dynasty must-own going forward. Davis will be an unrestricted free agent after this season and can't be trusted as even a TE2 in re-draft formats right now.

Fred Davis caught just one pass for three yards in Washington's Week 2 loss to the Packers.
Davis was targeted only twice, notching fewer looks and catches than rookie Jordan Reed. He was targeted as many times as blocker Logan Paulsen. Perhaps Davis' limited production has been a function of the Redskins not really competing in either of their first two games, but there's little reason to believe he's going to bounce back to his TE1 status of 2011. He's droppable if you need a roster spot.

Fred Davis caught two passes for 22 yards in Monday night's Week 1 loss to the Eagles.
Davis (4) was out-targeted by rookie TE Jordan Reed (6). Reed caught five passes for 38 yards. Davis played in all four preseason games, but Monday night was his first regular-season action since Week 7 of last season when he tore his Achilles'. Davis is on the TE2 radar, but that's only if he can keep Reed from passing him on the depth chart. Davis is operating on a one-year contract.

Fred Davis caught one pass for 31 yards in Saturday's preseason game versus Buffalo.
Davis' 31-yard grab on second-and-10 in the first quarter set the Redskins up at the seven-yard line, and Pierre Garcon caught a touchdown from Rex Grossman two plays later. Davis has seen limited action this preseason, but he's suffered no setbacks in his recovery from last year's torn Achilles'. He has four catches for 52 yards and a touchdown this preseason. Davis is a high-end TE2.

Fred Davis "continues to look good" at practice.
Davis' recovery from an October Achilles' rupture has been as smooth as it gets. He's expected to play roughly a half in Monday's second preseason game. Davis was on pace for a 54/742/0 line when he went down in Week 7 last year. He's a TE2 with a dash of upside this time around.
