Fred Davis
TE FA
Sun 9/11/11 8:21 PM

Fred Davis caught five passes for 105 yards in Washington's Week 1 win over the Giants. Davis was a beast, consistently finding holes in the Giants secondary and racking up huge yardage after the catch. He and Rex Grossman were on the same page throughout the game (he caught five of his six targets), and it's clear he's emerged as the favorite in the passing game over Chris Cooley. Both started, but Cooley saw just three targets and racked up just 21 yards. Davis is the one to own here, and he's capable of TE1 production.

Redskins TE Fred Davis is "doing it all" in an impressive training camp. Davis is picking up extra first-team reps with Chris Cooley sidelined. With 48 receptions, 509 yards, and six scores in just nine starts as an injury fill-in two years ago, Davis has proven capable of TE1 production. He's not a bad late-round flier in a contract year.

Redskins TE Fred Davis is picking up first-team practice reps with Chris Cooley hobbled by recurring knee problems. Davis showed up to camp in the best shape of his life, weighing in the low- to mid-240s after playing in the high 250s to 260s under the old Redskins regime. We've seen that Davis can play before, so he's on the radar as a deep sleeper. Coach Mike Shanahan admitted to "concern" with Cooley's knee on Wednesday.
