Brandon Jacobs (hamstring) is expected to practice Thursday. The Giants are on an exceptionally long week as they played the Thursday game in Week 6 and get the Monday night game in Week 7. Jacobs tweaked his hammy late in his fluky breakout against the Bears, but it sounds like he'll be fine. With the Giants backfield completely ravaged by injury, Jacobs is a good bet for 10-14 carries against the Vikings.

Pro Football Focus assigned Giants OLs Will Beatty, Justin Pugh, Jim Cordle, and David Diehl all with their highest single-game grades of the season in Thursday night's loss to the Bears. It's a frustrating turn of events for woebegone David Wilson owners, but gives the Giants some running-game hope. There weren't five offensive lines in the league playing worse over the season's first five weeks. The G-Men are now finding some offensive line continuity after shuffling bodies back and forth due to injuries early in the season. Per PFF, Brandon Jacobs averaged 2.6 yards per carry before contact against the Bears. He'll be squarely on the flex radar when the Giants take on the Vikings in Week 7.

Brandon Jacobs turned back the clock in New York's Week 6 loss to the Bears, rushing 22 times for 106 yards and two touchdowns. The 265-pound "running back" also added a catch for eight yards. Taking advantage of the Giants' first competent run-blocking performance of the season, Jacobs was dishing out pain all night, going as far as to knock Bears MLB D.J. Williams out of the game with a chest injury. Jacobs moved slowly, but deliberately, fighting hard for extra yards. He dragged 4-5 defenders with him on his four-yard score in the first quarter. However, he also suffered some pain of his own, injuring his left thigh late in the game. He played through the injury, and now has 10 days to get healthy for Week 7. With David Wilson (neck) out indefinitely and Da'Rel Scott playing very little this evening, Jacobs will be the G-Men's feature back against the Vikings. Just don't expect a repeat performance. We'd be shocked if tonight wasn't a fluke. Nevertheless, Jacobs' role locks him in as an RB3.

Brandon Jacobs will start Thursday's game against the Bears. It's a rare case where a starting running back doesn't warrant a fantasy add. The 31-year-old Jacobs has rushed 22 times for 48 yards (2.18 YPC) so far this season, looking like he's lugging around a fridge on his back. The only way he won't hurt owners is if he happens to punch in a goal-line opportunity. Da'Rel Scott figures to get at least half the reps and is a slightly better fantasy play because he could catch a handful of passes.

Brandon Jacobs rushed 11 times for 37 yards and lost a fumble in Sunday's Week 5 loss to the Eagles. Jacobs was rotating in behind David Wilson early on. Then Wilson hurt his neck and Jacobs was forced to play every snap, completely crippling the Giants offense. The 31-year-old "power" back's best runs come when he happens to fall forward, getting three yards. On the season, Jacobs has rushed 22 times for 48 yards (2.18 YPC) and scored one touchdown. Wilson is expected back for Week 6, meaning no one needs to think about adding Jacobs.

The Daily News says Brandon Jacobs is "going to get plenty of chances over the next few weeks."

Coach Tom Coughlin said the plan is still to use Brandon Jacobs in short-yardage and goal-line situations. Of course, the 0-4 Giants haven't had many goal-line chances this season. Jacobs has a total of 11 carries for 11 yards with one touchdown so far. Even with Da'Rel Scott gone, there's no upside in rostering Jacobs.

Brandon Jacobs rushed one time for five yards in Sunday's Week 4 loss to the Chiefs. Even when David Wilson needed a break after a kickoff return, Da'Rel Scott went in. With four total carries in the last two weeks, Jacobs shouldn't be on any fantasy rosters.

Brandon Jacobs rushed three times for two yards in the Giants' Week 3 loss to the Panthers. Rotoworld draft guru Josh Norris joked that he made a sandwich on Jacobs' two-yard run off the left edge. He has no juice whatsoever. Jacobs can be a goal-line vulture, but nothing more. He's barely worth owning in fantasy leagues.
