Brandon Jacobs (hamstring) is expected to practice Thursday.
The Giants are on an exceptionally long week as they played the Thursday game in Week 6 and get the Monday night game in Week 7. Jacobs tweaked his hammy late in his fluky breakout against the Bears, but it sounds like he'll be fine. With the Giants backfield completely ravaged by injury, Jacobs is a good bet for 10-14 carries against the Vikings.
10-14 carries sounds like brilliant forecasting. Hillis was just signed and will probably vulture every 3rd down over 1-2 yds, plus will get 1 of 3 series IMO.
What do u think... B Jacobs, Kennan Allen, or Reuben randle for flex play... Already have fits, dez Bryant, and Alfred Morris starting. Also with fitz hobbled and playing Seahawks secondary should I sit him and play 2 of the 3 flex options instead of 1?
Well that's ur opinion dueschbag except u sound stupid cuz there is no right answer, wit Brandon Jacobs back in the game Reuben randle might not barely catch a pass and last week fitz was barely supposed to play n he caught a 75 yrd TD pass so I'm tryna find out what other people r doing wit these players just to get an idea just like every other person is doing when they ask questions so back the hell off
Fitz is nursing the hamstring on a short week and will be paired against Richard Sherman, so if you sit Fitz take Jacobs. He will start and get the bulk of the carries. Randle is playing well but he is still the third option when it comes to WR's on that team.
10-14 carries? Really - Big J is going off for another 24pt this week and might top last weeks effort and run in 3TDs . . .The G-Men want a win - The Minn. little Tykes are no position to stop them - at least not on defense. . . There is no other RB in NY (at least this week) that will make a difference...The only think that will stop Jacobs for putting up another monster game will be his old friend "Mr Hammy" . . .
I actually like Eli this week - I know he's been awful but if there's a game to get healthy #'s this is it - Jacobs (if healthy) and Foster (although Martin might finally get his) - and you got to go Marshal and Cruz - allthough it's hard to leave Blackmon on the bench right now . ..
depends what you need - if you're thin @ RB Jacobs has a nice matchup this week - There's no gaurantee Nicks will be dealt this week or any week - but if he is Randle will see a huge uptick in targets - if you have a solid roster I would probably stash Randle for the next two weeks and see what happens....
Jacobs may not be longer term by much. Brown projects to leap-frog Jacobs when he's eligible to return, unless Jacobs just sets the world on fire between now and then.
@G-R-I-M
Jacob's Week 6 stats have fluke written all over them. You're kidding yourself chasing points like that, much less predicting them that confidently.
This is why i shouldn't comment after 1am (light it up!) . . .I hear the next line . . I shouldn't comment at all . .. LOL - wrong Randle (was obviously thinking Rueben or maybe it was Randle El...LOL) - Go with what all those other guys said ! Cogs is absolutely correct - Jacobs is no long term solution and Wk 6 is probably the best you'll ever see from him again (it's great to dream) - but it's still a great match-up - JOSEPH RANDLE avg. a mere 1.5 vs the skins - but w/only Tanner left in the rotation he wll see the bulk of the carries and s/b in line for another rushing TD . ..
Grim, I knew which Randle you were referring to,it was jtaurus that was confused. lol. I may be the only one that likes Jacobs this week and long term. He knows the system and will get the goal line touches. I picked him up as a backup because of the struggles with Trent Richardson and A.Morris inconsistent touches. I'm playing him this week over A.Morris because I can't stand Shannhan putting Helu in the game most of the times. RG3 continue to struggle which makes it hard on A.Morris. I'm starting J.Charles and Jacobs. Trent and A.Morris are on the bench. Risky, I know. Hopefully it pays off.
@childpleese I'm also thinking about starting Brandon Jacobs over Trent Richardson. T-Rich has not been doing great and is also up against the Broncos rushing defense next week. What do y'all think?
Maybe the Colts take a page from the chargers and try to run the ball and control clock vs that high octane Peyton offense . . . I think that's the only way T-Rich has a day . . . Otherwise D. Brown catches passes out of the backfield in shoot out mode . . .
I'm going with Brandon Jacobs over TRich. I can't afford to wait around for TRich when Jacobs has a more favorable matchup on MONDAY night. He is going to show his butt!!! I mean, a GOLDEN matchup. I'm gambling this week.
@ Childplease. wow, that's exactly what I'm thinking of doing with Trent. Used my top waiver on Jacobs. Rolling the dice and tired of losing every game with Trent.
Lacy might be the safer pick at this point even though Jacobs is against the Vikes, the WR core is banged up in Green Bay so they will be looking to run the ball a bit
Monitor Jacobs progression - he has the matchup and the extra rest between games - It's not bad situation to be in w/ Lacy vs Jacobs - both should produce and Lacy might even get a little uptick this week as GB will probably throw in some more screen plays and check downs to counter their WR injuiries . . .

I would go Kennen Allen although Jacobs could be a good play going against Vikings defense that allowed Mike Tolbert to score twice last week
Tigerbait22Thu 10/17/13 12:45 PM
I would go Allen as well, thought it was an easy call. I have Jacobs and am forced to start him this week, but Allen is the play here.
youngbelski16Thu 10/17/13 5:07 PM
Thanks now if I sit Fitz who would u play out of randle and Jacobs I'm scared to sit him tho after I did last week and he had a big game

You are a football genius Grimm! one problem Joseph Randle is a running back not a receiver, You may wanna read a lil slower from now on just sayin

Go with Jacobs. Longer term rb. Randal might only play one week

Lacy is going against a tough run defense(CLEV), but he did well against BAL run defense last week...It's a toss up.
