Texans declared WR Andre Johnson, QB T.J. Yates, CB Sherrick McManis, FS Danieal Manning, OG Thomas Austin, OT Andrew Gardner, and TE Garrett Graham inactive for Week 10 against the Bucs. Johnson is fully expected to play in Week 12 after the Texans' bye. Kevin Walter and Jacoby Jones will start again this week, though Houston has gone with a run-dominant attack of late.

Andre Johnson (hamstring) fully expects to return following the Texans' Week 11 bye. "I should be ready for the Jacksonville game," Johnson said. "Everything's been going very positive this past week. I haven't been feeling the pulling (where the surgical procedure was done on his hamstring) that was causing the pain. I didn't feel it (Friday) when I ran. It's been very positive." Before going down early in Week 4, Johnson had hauled in at least seven catches for 93 yards in each of his first three games.

Texans coach Gary Kubiak is confident that Andre Johnson (out, hamstring) will be 100 percent after the Week 11 bye. Johnson is on board with the decision to sit out Week 10, and the Texans will really come out looking good if they beat the Bucs on Sunday. "He is doing wonderful," said Kubiak. "We should come out of the bye knowing that he's back ready to go and be a part of our team as we go into those last six weeks. ... The smart thing to do is to give him this extra time to rest."

Texans coach Gary Kubiak ruled out Andre Johnson (hamstring) for Week 10 at his press conference Friday. Jacoby Jones, who is Houston's leader in targets since Johnson went down six games ago, will make one last start. The Texans have played this situation well, making sure Johnson doesn't come back at less than full strength to re-injure himself. And they've won three straight games. He should return as an every-down wideout when the Texans emerge from their bye in Week 12.

Andre Johnson (hamstring) revealed Thursday that he no longer feels a tugging in the back of his leg when he runs. In Johnson's most tangible sign of progress, he says he hasn't felt a pull in a couple of days. This was the main obstacle left in Johnson's rehab before a return to practices. "The main thing now is me just getting back the confidence in my leg," said Johnson. While we still expect him to sit out this week, this emboldens our sentiment that he makes for a fine target at the fantasy trade deadline.

The Houston Chronicle's John McClain still fully expects Andre Johnson (hamstring) to sit out this week after coach Gary Kubiak indicated that a game-time decision could be forthcoming. Johnson had his best day of rehab yet, but he still hasn't practiced this week. He's almost certain to miss a sixth consecutive game, giving him another to weeks to get back to 100 percent with the Week 11 bye. We still believe Johnson makes for a fine trade target at the fantasy deadline.

Coach Gary Kubiak says Andre Johnson (hamstring) could be a game-time decision if he practices on Friday. Kubiak said Johnson had his best day of rehab Thursday and is "very, very close ... He is doing extremely well." Considering he's yet to practice this week, we'd be shocked if Johnson gets the call at game-time on Sunday. It makes all the sense in the world for the first-place Texans to hold him out through the Week 11 bye to ensure that he's back to 100 percent for the stretch run.

Andre Johnson (hamstring) did no running at Texans practice Wednesday, and coach Gary Kubiak expects him to be a "weekend decision" for Week 10. The Texans elected to take things easy with Johnson today after he ran four of the past five days. Unless he makes huge progress in the next two days, it's hard to see the Texans activating Johnson against the Bucs. His most likely return date remains Week 12.

Although Andre Johnson (hamstring) turned in a "good" workout on Monday, Texans coach Gary Kubiak is unsure if he'll return to practice Wednesday. Johnson is reportedly "upbeat," but with the Texans remaining noncommittal about his status, it's a good bet he'll remain sidelined until after the team's Week 11 bye. His status will be updated on Wednesday.

Andre Johnson (hamstring) admitted that he had a "setback" last Monday. Although coach Gary Kubiak continues to say Johnson is "close," it sure doesn't seem that way. "If it wouldn't have happened Monday, then it probably could've happened on Wednesday in practice," said Johnson, who did some light running on Friday. With the bye looming in Week 11, we wouldn't be surprised if he targets Week 12 for his return. The Texans are 3-2 without Johnson and face the Bucs Sunday.
