Andre Johnson was limited in Texans practice with a knee injury Wednesday. The Texans limited eight players in Wednesday's practice, perhaps indicating that Johnson's scaled-back reps were part of a plan or an overall maintenance day. We expect to see him start against the Brent Grimes-less Falcons.

Coach Gary Kubiak said he regretted playing Andre Johnson (hamstring) for so many snaps in his return Sunday. After missing six straight games, Johnson had just two catches for 22 yards. "Andre came out fine, but he played too much," Kubiak said. "He got tired. He took a step forward. It's going to take a few weeks for him to get back to himself." T.J. Yates may be more willing to look downfield than Matt Leinart was. We'd still consider Johnson a must-start against the Falcons in Week 13.

Andre Johnson managed just two catches for 22 yards in the Texans' Week 12 win over Jacksonville. Johnson was targeted only three times. First-half quarterback Matt Leinart refused to throw the football downfield and outside the numbers, and replacement T.J. Yates only completed eight throws. There will be better days ahead, but Matt Schaub and Leinart's season-ending injuries may make Johnson's impact inconsistent down the stretch. It looks like Yates is going to be the Texans' starting quarterback the rest of the way. Johnson does square off with a burnable Falcons pass defense in Week 13.

Andre Johnson is active and in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against Jacksonville. He's all systems go and should be played with confidence in fantasy leagues. The Texans' inactives are QB Kellen Clemens, CB Brandon Harris, OG Thomas Austin, FB Lawrence Vickers, DE Tim Bulman, TE Garrett Graham, and OT Andrew Gardner.

Texans coach Gary Kubiak reiterated Friday that Andre Johnson (hamstring) will be a starter in Week 12. Johnson did not miss a practice rep all week and is listed as probable to face the Jags. "I can see how hungry he is," said Kubiak. "He's practiced good this week." With both of Jacksonville's first-team cornerbacks now on season-ending injured reserve, Johnson is a top-five receiver play in Week 12.

Andre Johnson (hamstring) turned in a full practice Wednesday. Coach Gary Kubiak hinted before the workout that Johnson might be on something of a snap count in his first game back, but dominant players like A.J. are difficult to restrict when they're tearing apart opposing defenses and drawing double teams even when they're not getting the ball. We would play Johnson with confidence against the Rashean Mathis-less Jaguars in Week 12.

Texans coach Gary Kubiak says he won't "throw (Andre Johnson) out there and play him 70 plays" Sunday, but doesn't expect his stamina to be an issue. Johnson will have to shake off some rust after missing six straight games, but whenever he takes the field he should be expected to play at an elite level. His biggest concern against the Jaguars will likely be adjusting to new quarterback Matt Leinart.

Andre Johnson (hamstring) practiced on Monday, and is "all systems go" for Week 12, according to coach Gary Kubiak. Johnson has all but guaranteed he'll play against the Jaguars, and as long as he is able to turn in a full practice Wednesday and wake up without any unusual discomfort on Thursday, he should be good to go. Coming off a seven-week layoff and adjusting to life with Matt Leinart, Johnson likely won't be in for a blockbuster Sunday, but needs to be back in your lineup in all formats.

In his strongest language yet, Andre Johnson (hamstring) made it clear that he will play in Week 12 against the Jaguars. "I feel like I'm ready," said Johnson. "Right now, I don't have any doubt that I'll be back on the field next Sunday." All along Johnson has been less optimistic than coach Gary Kubiak, so his unwavering confidence is noteworthy.

Andre Johnson (hamstring) is still expected to return following the Texans' Week 11 bye. Barring an unexpected setback, Johnson will be catching passes from Matt Leinart come Week 12. While it's certainly a major downgrade from Matt Schaub, owners shouldn't be in all-out panic mode. When Leinart was last given a long-term chance to start in 2006, he averaged 226.6 yards passing and tossed 11 touchdowns over an 11-game stretch for the Cardinals.
