Andre Johnson (hamstring) is expected to do some work on the field Tuesday. Johnson continues to rehab, but we're expecting the Texans to exercise extreme caution here. It would be a surprise if he does anything more than work off to the side with trainers Tuesday. The Texans' goal is to get their ducks in a row for the playoffs.

John McClain of the Houston Chronicle doesn't expect Andre Johnson (hamstring) to play in Week 16. It sounds like a Week 17 return would be a best-case scenario. Coach Gary Kubiak ruled out Johnson for Week 15 on Friday, and the Texans' priority all along has been to make sure that their top receiver is 100% for the playoffs.

Andre Johnson (hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 15 against the Panthers. The Texans are likely to go extremely run-heavy against Carolina's vulnerable rush defense, leaving Jacoby Jones and Kevin Walter as low-upside fantasy WR3/flex options. Johnson is probably not going to play in Week 16, either.

Andre Johnson (hamstring) was held out of practice again on Thursday. Johnson did some running on a side field, but coach Gary Kubiak does not expect him to return on Friday. Kubiak concedes that Johnson is unlikely for Sunday against the Panthers, suggesting the star wideout would have to make a lot of improvement to play in Week 15.

Texans coach Gary Kubiak said Andre Johnson (hamstring) "did more than jog" in practice Wednesday, but "still has a ways to go." Although he's officially day-to-day, Johnson is extremely unlikely to play against the Panthers. Johnson hinted earlier on Wednesday that he's targeting a Week 17 return. If you're really hurting for a roster spot in a redraft league that concludes in Week 16, it's probably safe to drop your WR1.

Andre Johnson (hamstring) hinted that he may target Week 17 for his return. Johnson hasn't even been ruled out for Week 15 yet, but we're not expecting him to play. The threat of aggravation when the Texans have already clinched a playoff berth is too great. "If I had a choice, if everything works out and I was able to be healthy with regular season games left, I would like to play in a regular season game," Johnson said. "You want to have a game to get that rust off."

Coach Gary Kubiak said Monday he doesn't know if Andre Johnson (hamstring) will be able to play against the Panthers in Week 15. The Texans have clinched the AFC South and are now fighting for a first-round bye. "I think [Johnson] needs to play, but we're going to be smart with it," Kubiak said. "We need to get him on the field, though." Considering Johnson's recent history with hamstrings, we'd be a little surprised if he returned this week.

Texans declared WR Andre Johnson, CB Brandon Harris, DE Tim Bulman, OL Andrew Gardner, QB Jeff Garcia, TE Garrett Graham, and OL Thomas Austin inactive for Week 14 against the Bengals. Johnson will aim for a Week 15 return, though it's far from a certainty that he'll be available. Kevin Walter and Jacoby Jones are poor fantasy bets in the meantime. Lead-blocker Lawrence Vickers (hamstring) is active after missing two games.

Andre Johnson (hamstring, out) was noncommittal Friday when asked whether he thinks he will return for Week 15. Johnson is terming his hamstring strain as a "day to day" situation. "You work your butt off to get back after missing six games, and then to have something like this to happen again is very frustrating," he said. "At the same time, the team's in a great position and I'm just trying to do everything I can to get back."

The Texans have ruled out Andre Johnson (ankle) for Week 14. Jacoby Jones will get the start against Cincinnati. Johnson is only expected to miss one or two games with his latest hamstring injury. Look for the Texans to continue to attack with the run against a sagging Bengals rush defense.
