Gobert will get the night off Sunday for rest, Tony Jones of the Salt Lake Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gobert is simply taking a night off, so look for both Jeff Withey and Tibor Pleiss to pick up the majority of the minutes at center in Sunday's game. Gobert should be back at practice Monday and will likely be in the starting lineup for Tuesday's tilt with the Thunder.

Gobert's team option for the 2016-17 season was picked up by the Jazz on Saturday, the team's official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gobert was among four Jazz players (also, Trey Burke, Dante Exum, and Rodney Hood) to have options exercised Saturday. Last season, Gobert emerged as one of the NBA's premier defenders in the paint, averaging 8.4 points (on 60 percent shooting), 9.5 rebounds, 2.3 blocks, 1.3 assists, and 0.8 steals in 26 minutes. Expect further augmentation of his nightly lines as the unquestioned starting center in Utah.

Gobert is shooting 50 percent from the charity stripe after 12 attempts through Utah's first three preseason games.
EDGE Analysis
Gobert is on track to put up elite rebound and block numbers this season but his overall value could be hindered by his lackluster effort at the free-throw line. Last year he shot 62 percent and the early indication from preseason is that he didn't improve that facet of his game during the offseason. Despite this deficiency, the Frenchman won't likely reach the third round in the majority of standard leagues.

Jazz coach Quin Snyder confirmed Gobert would start at center this season, Tony Jones of the Salt Lake Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Given the huge minutes he logged from January onward last season, there wasn't any real doubt that Gobert would top Utah's depth chart at center in 2015-16. In just two seasons in the NBA, Gobert has already established himself as one of the league's preeminent rim protectors, and still has plenty of untapped potential on the offensive end. Fantasy players will draft Gobert for the huge rebound and block totals that he's virtually certain to provide in guaranteed minutes this season, but it's that unrealized offensive upside that could take his value to even greater heights. Gobert shot a robust 60.4 percent from the field last season, so if he can simply raise his shot attempts from the five-per-game to the seven- or eight-per-game range, he should crank out double-doubles with relative ease.

Gobert has decided to compete for France this summer in the European championships instead of participating in the summer league, The Salt Lake Tribune reports. He also hopes to improve his mid-range jumper and lower-body strength over the offseason. Gobert entered his sophomore season as a limited bench player but ended it as a candidate for the NBA's Most Improved Player and Defensive Player of the Year awards as Utah's starting center. This shift was enabled by the mid-season departure of Enes Kanter, ultimately allowing Gobert to start in 37 games under coach Quin Snyder. The 22-year-old will head into next season as the clear favorite to start alongside Derrick Favors in the frontcourt as the two combine to be one of the most menacing defensive backbones in the NBA. As an elite rebounder and blocker, combined with his efficiency from the field, Gobert could certainly be taken within the first few rounds this coming preseason in standard leagues despite his poor free-throw shooting abilities (62.3 percent).

Gobert scored 20 points (9-16 FG, 2-3 FT) with 17 rebounds, three assists, three blocks and a steal in 33 minutes during Monday's win over the Mavericks. Amar'e Stoudemire got the start at center for Dallas in place of Tyson Chandler (rest), and Gobert took full advantage of the mismatch. The French Rejection will get one more chance to post a big fantasy line on Wednesday in Utah's regular season finale in Houston.

Gobert is averaging 14.8 points on 68 percent from the field, 12.6 rebounds, two blocks and one steal over his last five games. The breakout is real and he will likely cost you a second round draft pick next season.

Gobert scored 15 points (4-7 FG, 7-9 FT) with 12 rebounds, three blocks, two assists and a steal in 37 minutes during Monday's win over the Timberwolves. He went toe to toe with Andrew Wiggins in the second quarter, as the rookie dunked on Gobert only to be emphatically rejected on a second dunk attempt less than a minute later. Over his last five games, the Frenchman is now averaging 14.4 points, 13.6 boards, 2.8 blocks and 1.0 steals.

Gobert was at his defensive best Saturday, scoring 13 points (3-6 FG, 7-10 FT) with 15 rebounds, with one assist, three steals and four blocks in 41 minutes. Gobert had an expanded role with Derrick Favors (back) sitting and predictably racked up the stats. He's a top 20 player since Enes Kanter's trade to Oklahoma City, averaging 10.5 points, 14.1 rebounds, 1.0 steals and 2.7 blocks in 35 minutes and if he can develop an offensive game, he'll be more of a beast.

Gobert grabbed a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds in 34 minutes of action Wednesday against the Blazers. Gobert is averaging 9.4 points, 11.4 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks over the last five games and continues to play well as a starter. He's really emerged as a force ever since Enes Kanter's departure, and there's no reason for him to be left in the wire in any league.
