Patrick Beverley shot 1-of-10 from the field for three points against the Lakers with four boards, four assists, one steal, one block and one 3-pointer in 34 minutes.
Yes, the 1-of-10 can be viewed as the headline in reality and might have been part of the reason why the Rockets lost. However, 34 minutes from Beverley is a terrific allotment from a fantasy perspective with the amount of hustle he puts into every game. In the playoffs last year, 48 percent of Beverley's shot came at the rim, so there shouldn't be an overwhelming concern about his shooting percentage. He's worth owning in all leagues.

Patrick Beverley will start at point guard for the Rockets against the Lakers on Thursday night.
He played 29 minutes off the bench in his return from a rib injury on Tuesday and the team has apparently seen enough to put him back in the starting lineup. Beverley severely outplayed Jeremy Lin in the preseason and Lin didn't help Houston's perimeter defense with the first unit while Beverley was out for three games. Beverley can fill the stat sheet and shouldn't be on any waiver wires.

Patrick Beverley returned from his rib injury on Tuesday night in a win over the Blazers, shooting 5-of-9 from the field for 12 points with four rebounds, one assist and one 3-pointer in 29 minutes.
He was expected to be out until at least Nov. 11 due to a rib injury, so suiting up tonight was a pleasant surprise. Beverley is a game changer with his aggressive style of play and he's a bit of a pest against opposing point guards -- something Jeremy Lin is not. He can rack up steals, hit threes and distribute the ball, so he'll offer a high ceiling even in a timeshare with Jeremy Lin.

Updating a previous item, Patrick Beverley (ribs) said he is playing against the Blazers on Tuesday night.
Reports surfaced just moments ago that he could play and we'll just be waiting on the official word from either coach Kevin McHale or the Rockets' training staff. Beverley has been a much better fit for the Rockets offense and he's unquestionably a better defender than Jeremy Lin. If for some reason Beverley is sitting on your waiver wire, go ahead and change that right now.

Patrick Beverley (ribs) could play tonight against the Blazers.
He was expected to be out for another week, but after last night's defensive debacle against Chris Paul, the Rockets certainly want to see Beverley back in the lineup. Jeremy Lin was abused all night and he hasn't done enough to take the starting job away from Beverley. This is your cue to pick up Beverley in all leagues.

Patrick Beverley reportedly "looked good" in Monday's pregame warmups according to Pro Basketball Talk's Kurt Helin, and also said that he "feels improved."
The Rockets got torched defensively tonight and in particular Jeremy Lin and the perimeter group, leaving Rockets beat writers bemoaning the absence of Beverley at regular intervals throughout the night. He actually gained value on a night he didn't play, and while we're not saying it will happen it wouldn't be surprising if he accelerated his timetable given the totality of the situation. And given his likely stat output and chance he's the starter for one of the NBA's best fantasy teams, he shouldn't be on waiver wires.

Rockets starting point guard Patrick Beverley has a torn muscle in his midsection and is expected to miss 10-14 days, at which time he will be reevaluated.
This is a tough break for one of Rotoworld's favorite sleepers, while it's also great news for Jeremy Lin who will now start for at least the next couple weeks.

Patrick Beverley pulled a muscle under his rib during Wednesday's game, but expects to play Friday.
This is good news for Beverley after he was forced to leave Wednesday's game against Charlotte after only playing 10 minutes. Jeremy Lin (whom Beverley beat out for the Rockets' starting PG job) will see more playing time if Beverley is forced to miss any games, but it would seem as if Beverley's fantasy owners have dodged a bullet here.

Patrick Beverley (ribs) will not return to Wednesday's opener due to a rib injury.
He'll likely have to receive an X-ray to check for cracked ribs and it's a little scary that he's been ruled out already. Beverley completely outplayed Jeremy Lin in the preseason after an eye-catching postseason series against the Thunder, so hopefully this is a day-to-day thing. James Harden will still remain as the primary ball handler even with Lin getting more burn.

Patrick Beverley suffered a rib injury in the second quarter of Wednesday's game and will be re-evaluated at halftime.
He plays some tight defense and causing a lot of contact from the opposition. Hopefully, Beverley is fine and we'll be looking for an update after halftime. Jeremy Lin will have less competition for minutes should Beverley need to miss time.
