Patrick Beverley hit just 2-of-8 shots and a 3-pointer for seven points, two rebounds, two assists and two steals in 33 minutes, but did play great defense on Jeff Teague, holding him to 0-of-5 shooting in Wednesday's win.
We're just about done being Beverley apologists, and the timing could be big here, as Jeremy Lin went down just four minutes into the game with a right knee injury. It's being called a contusion, which shouldn't keep him out too long, but even without Lin around, Beverley just looks to be more focused on defense than offense, which isn't what fantasy owners want to hear. Maybe Beverley is on the verge of a breakout with Lin hurting, but it was Aaron Brooks who took over at the point tonight with 21 points and four 3-pointers. As usual, we still recommend holding Beverley if you can, but it is also logical to consider dropping him for a more consistent offensive player if Beverley is hurting you more than he's helping. Just beware that we still don't think he can play this poorly on the offensive end of things for much longer, especially if Lin is going to miss time.

Patrick Beverley posted an increasingly familiar line of nine points, three rebounds, two assists, one steal, one block and one triple in Monday's win over the Grizzlies.
Beverley logged 39 minutes and even with James Harden out tonight he seemed allergic to offense, though a few big buckets late might have reminded him that he's a capable scorer, too. He's at the bottom of his production capability right now and that's still good enough for top-100 value, but he needs to get some confidence back on the offensive end if he's going to be the upside guy he appeared to be this offseason. Defensively, he held Mike Conley to 2-of-14 shooting and changed the game on that end, as usual.

Patrick Beverley scored 17 points on 6-of-12 shooting (including five threes) with two rebounds and three assists in the Rockets' 112-101 win over the Wolves on Saturday.
Beverley has been putting up some big lines lately even as he's still deferring to teammates on the offensive end. He has yet to live up to the hype and was hovering at the back-end of the top-100 before tonight's game, but he'll gain some ground after this one. The defensive game-changer isn't coming off the floor and can only go up.

Patrick Beverley had four steals and three 3-pointers in 37 minutes against the Mavericks on Wednesday, adding nine points, two boards and three assists.
That's eight 3-pointers in his last three games and he is playing 31.2 minutes per game over his last five. Beverley had the fourth-lowest usage rate among guards that are playing at least 27 minutes per game, so things might actually improve with some more opportunities. This was just his ninth start of his career in the regular season and he should get better on offense.

Patrick Beverley hit 6-of-9 shots and two 3-pointers for 16 points, four rebounds and one assist in Tuesday's easy win.
Jeremy Lin came off the bench for 11 points, five assists, a steal, a block and a 3-pointer, and this looks more like the type of lines we were expecting from the duo when Beverley was named the starter. Beverley tends to focus more on defense than offense, which isn't great for his fantasy value, but tonight was a nice step in the right direction.

Patrick Beverley hit 4-of-7 shots and three 3-pointers on his way to 11 points, five rebounds, two assists, one block and zero turnovers in 27 minutes on Saturday.
He played well, but the biggest issue is his lack of offense, as he's taken nine or fewer shots in five of his seven games this season. He should be able to help make up for that with the 3-pointers and defensive numbers, but the bottom line is that he's being outplayed by teammate Jeremy Lin. We still contend that Beverley will eventually get hot and be fun to own, but we just haven't seen it happen yet.

Patrick Beverley played 27 minutes in his sixth start of the season on Thursday, scoring five points with two boards, two assists, one steal and one 3-pointer.
The Rockets have used a litany of lineups so far this year and playing James Harden at small forward has allowed Beverley and Jeremy Lin to co-exist in the backcourt. Beverley's tenacity on defense should keep him in the lineup above 30 minutes, so the steals to go with some points, dimes and threes should be there for his owners.

Patrick Beverley bounced back from a terrible game and played through an illness on Wednesday, finishing with 12 points, nine rebounds, five assists, three steals, a block and a 3-pointer on 4-of-8 shooting in 42 minutes.
Beverley has been hit or miss thus far, but is the team's starting point guard for the foreseeable future. Yes, Jermey Lin went crazy tonight, but he was playing shooting guard in place of injured James Harden. We still maintain that Beverley should be owned in most, if not all, leagues.

Patrick Beverley is suffering from cold symptoms and he'll be a game-time decision on Wednesday.
Francisco Garcia sat out Monday's game and remains iffy to play with the same illness, but other players like Jeremy Lin, Dwight Howard and James Harden have played through the bug without laboring. If Beverley can't suit up, Lin will have extra opportunities to build on Monday's 31-point gem.

Patrick Beverley started over Jeremy Lin on Saturday and racked up 19 points, five rebounds, three assists, four steals, two blocks and two 3-pointers on 6-of-13 shooting.
We've been pimping Beverley pretty hard this season and he finally came through with the big line we've been waiting for. And now that he's healthy and starting again, it's time to get him back in your lineup. And if he was dumped in your league and still sitting out there, it's time to pick him up.
