Patrick Beverley (knee) will not return to action on Sunday.
Beverley has vowed to play during the regular season, which ends on April 16, but the Rockets won't rush him back and risk aggravating his torn meniscus. For what it's worth, Bev's knee didn't seem to bother him on Friday when he leaped at teammate Francisco Garcia to celebrate a clutch basket. His absence on Sunday means at least one more start for Jeremy Lin, with backup minutes available for Isaiah Canaan.

Patrick Beverley (knee) intends to return "before the playoffs."
Beverley is recovering from a torn meniscus which will not require surgery. It's surprising that he's aiming to return so soon after the injury, which occured on March 27, but at the moment he hasn't provided a target return date. The Rockets have eight games left on their regular season schedule.

Patrick Beverley will not require surgery on his torn meniscus and the Rockets expect him to return this season.
Beverley is week-to-week and it's unlikely that he'll return during the regular season, but this is a wonderful diagnosis which clears the way for him to play in the postseason. In the meantime, Jeremy Lin will continue to start at PG with help from backup Isaiah Canaan.

Patrick Beverley (knee) said he might not have surgery on his torn meniscus.
He has an appointment with the world famous Dr. James Andrews on Monday and more information should be released at that point. Beverley added he could be back in 10-14 days, but he's just guessing until Monday. "I feel pretty good," Beverley said. "I feel like I knocked knees with somebody. It hurt a lot the first day. I don't really feel a lot of pain today, which is a good sign. No swelling. So I'm going to go see the best knee doctor in the country."

Patrick Beverley's agent confirmed his client suffered a torn right meniscus during Thursday's game vs. the Sixers.
"He has a torn meniscus, we're not 100 percent sure how bad it is or what action we will take," his agent Kevin Bradbury said. Coach Kevin McHale said it would be 7-10 days before the team would know a timetable for Beverley's return. There is no information whether he tore his medial or lateral meniscus at this time. Meniscus tears usually take 4-8 weeks of recovery time with lateral tears taking longer -- the same type of injury Russell Westbrook suffered last year in the playoffs. Regardless, Beverley is out for the year. Jeremy Lin will get more playing time while Isaiah Canaan is also in the mix now.

Patrick Beverley (knee) has reportedly suffered a torn meniscus.
This is quite a reversal from Beverley saying he'd be able to play Saturday, but the point guard with reportedly seek a second opinion to confirm this diagnosis. Beverley's timetable is still unclear at this point, but an injury like this would likely end Beverley's season. We'll update this situation as more news becomes available, but Jeremy Lin just shot to the top of the "must-add" list.

Patrick Beverley (knee) expects to play against the Clippers on Saturday.
Beverley left Thursday's game against the Sixers with a right knee strain and will get an MRI on Friday to determine the extent of the injury. For what it's worth, Beverley thinks he will be ready to play on Saturday and will wear a sleeve on his knee if he does. We'll update this situation as more news becomes available, but Jeremy Lin becomes a solid speculative add in most leagues just in case Beverley is forced to miss any time.

He was probable with an illness and was never in jeopardy of missing this game. He'll get a terrific matchup and could turn in a big game tonight.

Patrick Beverley is probable to play on Thursday despite having flu-like symptoms.
The Rockets have an easy matchup with the 76ers, which is nice, but the combined threats of Beverley's illness and a possible blowout add some risk to the proceedings. Beverley is averaging 14.2 points with 2.4 threes, 3.4 assists and 1.4 steals in his past five games, which are good enough to roll the dice on him in most formats.
