Smart went to the locker room early in Tuesday's game with an apparent injury, but he will have his ankle re-taped and go back into the game, CSNNE's Abby Chin reports. Smart got the start at point guard Tuesday, so it would have been terrible for him to suffer an injury right away, but fortunately it sounds like something fairly minor. Continue to monitor his performance for the rest of Tuesday's contest, but it sounds like something he will be able to play through going forward.

Smart will get the start at point guard Tuesday, the Boston Herald's Steve Bulpett reports. Evan Turner will slide over to small forward, in a move that will really mix things up for Boston's offense. There are no guarantees that coach Brad Stevens will stick with such a change, but it seems Smart's value is trending up.

Smart (personal) played 29 minutes off the bench Monday, scoring nine points (4-9 FG, 1-4 3Pt) with five assists, three rebounds and a steal. He stepped right back into a significant role after missing one game due to a death in his family. Smart is dealing with the typical rookie ups and downs on the court, but in deep leagues he can provide some backcourt production.

Smart will miss Sunday's game against the Warriors following a death in his family, the Celtics' official site reports. Smart is expected to rejoin the team in Salt Lake City for Monday's game against the Jazz.

Smart scored 10 points (3-9 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 1-2 FT) and added three rebounds, four assists, one steal, and one block in 31 minutes off the bench in Friday's overtime loss to the Pacers. Jeff Green was held of the game pending his expected trade to the Grizzlies. Though they play different positions, Green's absence appears to have nonetheless opened up some extra minutes for Smart. While Smart has seen similar workloads a small handful of times over the past month, he came into the game averaging only 20 minutes per night over his last three outings. If Green's absence leads to Evan Turner playing more small forward, and therefore less shooting guard, then it would make sense that Green's departure could also help Smart.

Smart played 28 minutes off the bench against the Kings on Wednesday and was able to contribute 11 points, six rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Smart, Evan Turner, and Jameer Nelson have been battling for the starting job at point guard. All three have been given a turn at the helm of the offense, but it's important to note that coach Brad Stevens has been relatively dividing up their time on the court equally, regardless of who starts. Smart seems like the long-term option but isn't quite ready to assume a full workload at this point in his rookie season.

Smart will move back to the bench for Wednesday's game, according to head coach Brad Stevens. After trading Rajon Rondo, Stevens has been searching for the best starting backcourt, and Smart has played a bit better while coming off the bench. Fantasy owners hoping to use Smart in the future will need him to move into the starting lineup for good in order for him to have reliable value in standard leagues.

Smart put up five points (2-6 FG, 1-3 3Pt) to go along with three rebounds, six assists, and four steals in 31 minutes as a starter against the Nets on Friday. With the recent departure of Rajon Rondo, it seems that Smart will now be spending more time on the court. However, it's still unknown if he'll continue to be the starter moving forward or whether the newly acquired Jameer Nelson could take that role. Either way, the rookie is averaging 19 minutes per game this season but that number should steadily rise as the year moves forward and coach Brad Stevens feels more confident in his abilities.

Smart will get the start at point guard Friday versus Brooklyn. Since the Rajon Rondo trade, the Celtics have tried three different options at point guard in Smart, Evan Turner and Jameer Nelson. The rookie, who started Sunday's loss to the Heat, will notch his second start of the season, pushing Tuesday's starter, Nelson, to the bench. While Smart has struggled to score in his last three contests, he did post a 23-point, five-assist, four-rebound line earlier in the month, so he has some upside when given substantial minutes.

Smart played only 17 minutes and took zero shot attempts during Tuesday night's loss in Orlando. Smart is still clearly slowed down by the ankle and achilles injuries that had him miss ten games. Many expected Smart to play big minutes now that Rajon Rondo is in Dallas. That should still be the case, but in good time. First Smart needs to feel 100% healthy. In the meantime, the Celtics will showcase newly arrived Jameer Nelson for the upcoming February trade deadline.
