Smart eked out three points (0-5 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 3-4 FG), one rebound and two steals over 16 minutes in Tuesday's 112-106 loss to Miami.
EDGE Analysis
The defensive-minded Smart fouled out with just under four minutes remaining in the third quarter. The C's seemed distracted by a few bad calls and got outhustled by the Heat. After opening bubble play with a great game versus Milwaukee, Smart has answered with back-to-back three-point stinkers. After starting the last 11 games before the sports stoppage, Smart has come off the bench for all three Orlando bubble games. Boston has little time to grouse as it faces the Nets on Wednesday night for the second of a back-to-back.

Smart generated 23 points (7-11 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 6-8 FT), four rebounds, an assist and a steal over 32 minutes in Friday's 119-112 loss to Milwaukee in Orlando.
EDGE Analysis
Smart came off the bench, but played starter's minutes, which will probably continue as long as Kemba Walker (knee) is on a minutes restriction. Smart's 23 points led Boston in scoring on a night when Walker played only 19 minutes and Jayson Tatum shot 2-for-18. The versatile Smart also saw a lot of time guarding Antetokounmpo on the defensive end. Near the end of the game, it looked like Smart briefly forced Giannis to foul out via a charge, until the call was overturned on replay. Look for Smart to continue to play a big role throughout most of these Orlando regular season games.

Smart will not play in the Celtics' final scrimmage Tuesday, Tom Westerholm of The Springfield Republican reports.
EDGE Analysis
Smart is being rested before Friday's opener against the Bucks. Gordon Hayward, Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Kemba Walker, Daniel Theis and Enes Kanter are also out.

Smart produced 10 points (5-5 FG), five rebounds and four assists across 23 minutes in Sunday's 117-103 win over the Suns in Orlando.
EDGE Analysis
Smart is much more than a placeholder for Boston's backcourt. He would be a likely starter for a lesser team, and he's demonstrated time and again how capable he is when the Celtics are ailing in their guard corps. He can also play the three depending on the matchup. His fantasy impact can be challenging to predict, but Smart's 32.5 minutes per game pre-coronavirus is a good indicator of his importance to the Celtics.

Smart produced eight points (3-8 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three assists and three steals in Friday's Orlando bubble scrimmage loss to Oklahoma City.
EDGE Analysis
Love him or hate him, MAH-cus isn't going to allow 0-4 from behind the arc prevent him from attempting a fifth three-pointer. Smart drew the start at point guard as Boston is resting Kemba Walker and his sore knee. Expect Boston to sit Walker a few times during the Orlando play-in games to make sure he's fresh for the playoffs. That will mean more ball handling responsibilities for Smart, who already averaged 4.8 dimes and 32.5 minutes per game before the sports stoppage.

Smart has been cleared from the coronavirus since Friday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Smart took to his personal Twitter account Sunday night to announce that he was cleared by the Massachusetts Department of Health on Friday. This is, of course, great news for Smart and the Celtics, but it remains very much unclear when we may see the defensive-minded guard on the court again.

Celtics coach Brad Stevens relayed Friday that Smart (illness) is doing well following his positive test for the coronavirus a week earlier, Tim Bontemps of ESPN.com reports. "Great. He's great. Great spirits. Joking as always," Stevens said.
EDGE Analysis
Smart is one of five known NBA players to have tested positive for COVID-19, with the first three of those players whose identities were revealed (Rudy Gobert, Donovan Mitchell and Christian Wood) all having since received full clearance from doctors. Based on Stevens' comments, Smart could receive clearance of his own within the next few days, seemingly putting him on track to be ready to play whenever the NBA resumes its season.

Smart went for 29 points (9-23 FG, 6-15 3Pt, 5-6 FT), three rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block in 37 minutes during Friday's 99-94 loss against the Jazz.
EDGE Analysis
Smart has taken advantage of his recent move to the starting lineup, as he has averaged 19.0 points in his last nine starts. He is not doing it at a very efficient rate -- 37.6 percent from the field and 34.1 percent from deep -- but he makes up for that with his contributions in other areas of the game such as rebounds, assists and steals.

Smart recorded 18 points (5-15 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 8-8 FT), two rebounds, two assists and two steals in 32 minutes in Wednesday's 112-106 win versus the Cavaliers.
EDGE Analysis
Smart had an ugly shooting night (33.3 percent), but saw a season-high eight free throws and was perfect from the charity stripe. Jaylen Brown (hamstring), Gordon Hayward (knee) and Kemba Walker (knee) all missed this contest. Brown has already been ruled out for Friday night's matchup with Jazz and there is a chance that at least one of Walker or Hayward also misses this contest. Smart will start again and should play huge minutes against this Utah defense that has been struggling since the All-Star break.
