Smart (calf) said that he felt great after practice Wednesday and expects to play Thursday against the Nets, Jay King of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Smart initially wasn't expected to return for the Celtics' first game after the All-Star break, but he now appears likely to play following his successful practice Wednesday. The 25-year-old said that he hadn't played 5-on-5 prior to Wednesday's practice, and he'll have a minutes restriction against Brooklyn on Thursday if he's ultimately able to return, Brian Robb of The Springfield Republican reports.

Smart (calf) will practice Wednesday, Brian Robb of MassLive.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Smart is still expected to be out Thursday against the Nets, but practicing is a good sign for a return sooner than later. More information may emerge once practice concludes, or on Thursday during the league's first injury report.

Smart (calf) will likely be sidelined for the Celtics' first game after the All-Star break, March 11 against the Nets, but could return shortly after, Tim Bontemps of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
A strained left calf has kept Smart on the shelf for all of February and now into March, and a return in mid to late March appears to be the target. When Smart does get back on the court, fewer minutes will likely be available for Aaron Nesmith, Tremont Waters, Carsen Edwards and other reserve backcourt options.

Smart (calf) is targeting a return to game action after the All-Star break, which runs from March 5-10, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Smart's left calf strain that has hampered him since the end of January looks like it will likely keep him out for the remainder of the first half, though he has resumed traveling with the team and taken part in parts of practice of late. Including Sunday's game against the Pelicans, Smart looks poised to miss at least another seven games after having already sat out 11 contests on account of the injury. Smart is averaging 13.1 points, 6.1 assists, 2.8 rebounds, 1.8 and 1.6 three-pointers per game over 17 appearances on the campaign.

Smart is with the team on its current road trip but remains without a timetable to return due to a strained left calf.
EDGE Analysis
Smart has been sidelined since Jan. 30 with the injury and while it's encouraging that he is at least with the team, it doesn't appear that he is too close to a return. The 26-year-old guard was initially set to miss 2-to-3 weeks with the injury, the team had said, but it looks like he may have to miss closer to a month as the injury lingers. Rookies Payton Pritchard and Aaron Nesmith will continue to see increased workloads as long as Smart remains out.

Smart said Friday that he's healing well since suffering a left calf tear Jan. 30 against the Lakers, but he admitted he doesn't believe he's close to playing and remains without a timeline to return, Justin Leger of NBC Sports Boston reports. "I'm not actually where I want to be. It's tough just 'cause being hurt it's just a whole process. It takes time," Smart said. "But we are making great strides. We are definitely ahead of schedule than what we thought we would be with the type of injury. I'm able to finally walk, put more pressure on it, a light jog, light basketball movements. So that's a good thing. I've done some things on the court just trying to load it and test it out."
EDGE Analysis
Shams Charania of The Athletic previously reported Jan. 31 that the Celtics projected Smart to miss 2-to-3 weeks after reviewing the results of his MRI, but that timeline was evidently too aggressive. While Smart indicated that he's been able to resume light activity, a clearer target date for his return likely won't emerge until he's taking full contact in practice. Fantasy managers shouldn't count on Smart being available at any point during the Celtics' upcoming four-game week, and he sounds like he could remain sidelined through the All-Star break.

The Celtics say Smart is expected to miss 2-to-3 weeks due to a strained left calf, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
The team's timeline is slightly different than an earlier report stating that Smart could miss 1-to-2 weeks, as Smart may have to miss up to three weeks. The team appears to think it will be without the 26-year-old guard until mid to late February. Jeff Teague and Aaron Nesmith will likely see expanded roles while Smart is on the sidelines.

Smart is expected to be sidelined 1-to-2 weeks after being diagnosed with a Grade 1 strain in his left calf Sunday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 26-year-old sustained the injury during Saturday's loss to the Lakers and underwent an MRI on Sunday. Boston begins a five-game West Coast road trip Tuesday at Golden State, so Smart could be held out until the team returns home to face Toronto on Feb. 11.

Smart was diagnosed with a Grade 1 calf strain after an MRI on Sunday and is expected to miss some time, though he shouldn't face a long-term absence, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Smart suffered the injury during Saturday's loss to the Lakers, but it appears he was able to avoid a more serious lower leg issue. It's unclear how long the 26-year-old is expected to be sidelined, but he shouldn't be counted on to be available for Tuesday and Wednesday's back-to-back set against the Warriors and Kings.

Smart won't return to Saturday's game against the Lakers due to a left calf strain, Chris Forsberg of NBC Sports Boston reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 26-year-old sustained the injury during the second half and was immediately helped to the locker room. Smart had four points (2-7 FG, 0-3 3Pt), seven assists, two rebounds, two steals and one block in 26 minutes prior to the injury. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Smart will undergo an MRI on Sunday, so there's at least a possibility he faces an extended absence.
