Lin was great yet again on Monday, contributing 18 points (6-8 FG, 1-1 3 Pt, 5-9 FT), eight rebounds, five assists and one steal in a preseason win over the Bulls.
EDGE Analysis
Lin was questionable with an illness coming into the game, but clearly it didn't hamper him in this impressive performance. He's been doing this all preseason and he's the best backup point guard in Charlotte in years. He is on the border of being fantasy relevant, but he's one Kemba walker injury away from being a must own in all formats.

Lin is dealing with an illness and will not play in Saturday's preseason game, the Charlotte Observer's Rick Bonnell reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's not clear how serious the illness is, but for now it seems likely that he will be able to get right in time for the start of the regular season.

Lin tallied 16 points, three rebounds, four assists and one steal in a 106-94 win over the Clippers on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Lin looked like one of the best players on the floor, as he posted a game-high +23 in the plus-minus category. The role for Lin is a bit up in the air, but he'll surely play behind Kemba Walker and will likely struggled to crack more than 25 minutes per game in the deep Hornets rotation. If Walker is to miss any games, Lin would become a fantastic play in daily formats and a great trade target in yearly formats. If that doesn't happen, Lin remains a bench player in fantasy leagues much like he is on the actual Charlotte roster.

Lin will play alongside starting point guard Kemba Walker at times, Scott Fowler of the Charlotte Observer reports. Walker, Nicolas Batum, and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist have already been named starters by coach Steve Clifford. At Lin's introductory press conference, coach Clifford confirmed he'll use Lin as a combo guard, which helps his fantasy value since he won't be solely utilized as Walker's backup. Lin's goal this season is to attack the basket more and create for his teammates.

Lin reportedly agreed to a contract with the Hornets on Wednesday, Basketball Insiders reports. The Harvard alum spent last season with the Lakers, making 30 starts over 74 games. He finished with season averages of 11.2 points, 2.6 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.1 steals over 26 minutes per game. The terms of the deal have yet to be disclosed, but it's likely in the form of the mid-level exception, which would net Lin just over $5 million. He should battle with Brian Roberts for minutes behind starter, Kemba Walker.

Lin played in 74 games for the Lakers in his fifth NBA season, averaging 11.2 points, 2.6 rebounds and 4.6 assists in 26 minutes per game. This was the final year of his three-year, roughly $25 million deal he originally signed with the Rockets, and he will now enter unrestricted free agency this offseason. After starting all 82 games with the Rockets in 2012-13, Lin has now had back-to-back seasons where he has served dominantly as a backup. As a result, Lin's numbers obviously took a dip, but he still serves as an above-average point guard. His minutes within the Lakers' rotation fluctuated throughout the regular season, as after starting the season as the team's primary point guard, his duties were ultimately overtaken by First-Team All-Rookie point guard Jordan Clarkson. Lin's best stint of the regular season, however, actually came when he was not the starter. In late March, with the season winding down, Lin had a four-game stretch where he averaged 21.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 5.5 assists in just over 30 minutes. The stretch that late in the season showed that Lin still has something to offer and was important for him as he enters free agency. And while he obviously won't be make the $15 million he made in 2015-16, he still should not have any issues finding an NBA team that will sign him to a reasonable contract for the next few seasons.

Lin revealed in a recent blog post on his website that he felt "burnt out" at the end of the season, the LA Daily News reports. "I felt pretty burnt out coming out of this past season," Lin wrote. "I felt like I gave great effort to play well, play the right way, and maintain the right perspective despite seeing very little fruit. So when the season first ended I felt verylazy. I know it's natural to feel worn out after a long year, but I was surprised by how drained I felt and how little excitement I felt to start my off-season training." Lin endured an especially tough season as the Lakers limped to a 21-61 record, failing to fit in with coach Byron Scott's system and struggling with inconsistency and minor injuries. The unrestricted-free-agent-to-be admitted that he took three-and-a-half weeks off after the season to recharge, but he's now in the midst of his offseason training program. Lin, who missed the final seven games of the season with a left knee injury, finished the year averaging 11.2 points on 42.4 percent shooting to go with 4.6 assists and 2.2 turnovers in 74 games. It seems unlikely that Lin will be back with the Lakers next season, though neither party has ruled out negotiating a new contract.

Lin (knee) will miss the final three games of the season, Mike Bresnahan of the Los Angeles Times reports. A recent MRI revealed an abnormality in the left meniscus that Lin tore back in 2012. He may only need rest to address the issue, but even if that's the case, the Lakers have no incentive to bring him back for another game or two. Jabari Brown and Wes Johnson should get all the minutes they can handle over the final three games, with Dwight Buycks also a key part of the rotation. The knee issue couldn't have cropped up at a worse time for Lin, who is set to become a free agent this summer.

Lin (knee) will participate in pre-game warmups, but he still appears doubtful to play Sunday Mark Medina of the L.A. Daily News reports. With the Lakers playing for a draft pick at this point, there's little reason for Lin to play if he's at all hurt. Expect him to sit the rest of the regular season in order to avoid any type of long term injury.
