Lin missed Saturday's practice due to a sore left knee, the Los Angeles Daily News reports. Absent the last two games due to the ailment, Lin received further rest Saturday. A recent MRI confirmed that he's dealing with an abnormality in his meniscus, meaning his season is certainly in jeopardy. However, the Lakers have yet to rule him out for Sunday's contest against the Mavericks.

Lin (knee) will have his left knee examined Thursday, Mike Bresnahan of the LA Times reports. Lin was held out of Wednesday's game with soreness in the knee - the same one on which he had surgery in 2012 to repair a torn meniscus. At this point, the MRI should be considered precautionary, but his status for the rest of the season may be dependent upon the result. If he's held out again Friday against Minnesota, rookie Jabari Brown will likely make another start.

Lin is still starting in the backcourt for the Lakers, but he played just 24 minutes Tuesday after playing just 17 minutes Sunday. If Lin isn't going to play at least 28 minutes per game, it's highly unlikely that he'll collect enough stats to be worth using in standard leagues the rest of the way. Also, with his minutes unclear, it'd be a poor investment to spend money on Lin in daily games.

Lin (illness) posted 10 points, three rebounds, three assists, and one steal in 28 minutes of action Wednesday against the Pelicans. Lin had missed the last two games with an illness, but he appears set to play moving forward. He's averaging 14.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, 5.4 assists, and 1.6 steals in March, and is worth owning in standard leagues as a starter.

Lin (illness) may return to action Wednesday against the Hornets, the LA Daily News reports. An upper respiratory infection has forced two consecutive absences, but coach Byron Scott is of the belief that Lin will be able to gut it out Wednesday. Prior to the brief run of DNPs, Lin was ripping it up, averaging 21.3 points (on 50 percent shooting), 5.5 assists, 4.3 rebounds, 1.8 three-pointers, and 0.8 steals in 31 minutes.

Lin (illness) will not play Monday against the 76ers, Mike Trudell of Lakers.com reports. Lin will miss a second straight game with an upper respiratory infection, and Wayne Ellington will get another start in the backcourt with Jordan Clarkson. Lin (illness) will be held out of Sunday's game against the Nets, Newsday's Rod Boone reports. Lin has an upper respiratory infection, and he should be considered day-to-day and questionable for Monday's game. In his absence, rookie Jabari Brown could enter the starting lineup, as could veteran Wayne Ellington. Regardless, Jordan Clarkson will likely see additional minutes at the point guard spot.
