Lin revealed in a recent blog post on his website that he felt "burnt out" at the end of the season, the LA Daily News reports. "I felt pretty burnt out coming out of this past season," Lin wrote. "I felt like I gave great effort to play well, play the right way, and maintain the right perspective despite seeing very little fruit. So when the season first ended I felt verylazy. I know it's natural to feel worn out after a long year, but I was surprised by how drained I felt and how little excitement I felt to start my off-season training."
Lin endured an especially tough season as the Lakers limped to a 21-61 record, failing to fit in with coach Byron Scott's system and struggling with inconsistency and minor injuries. The unrestricted-free-agent-to-be admitted that he took three-and-a-half weeks off after the season to recharge, but he's now in the midst of his offseason training program. Lin, who missed the final seven games of the season with a left knee injury, finished the year averaging 11.2 points on 42.4 percent shooting to go with 4.6 assists and 2.2 turnovers in 74 games. It seems unlikely that Lin will be back with the Lakers next season, though neither party has ruled out negotiating a new contract.
