The Hornets will opt to go small, with Lin joining Kemba Walker in the backcourt as P.J. Hairston slides up to small forward. Lin figures to see a mild boost in minutes, as do the likes of Marvin Williams and Jeremy Lamb.

Lin received the start with P.J. Hairston and Cody Zeller out with injuries, and posted modest numbers. Lin has been a decent source of scoring and assists, and seems to be enjoying the consistent role and minutes he has received in his first season with the Hornets. If Kemba Walker were to get hurt, Lin would likely be a must-start player in all formats, but as things stand he is merely a low-end option in most standard leagues.

Lin will get the start at shooting guard Friday against the 76ers.

Though he's come off the bench in every game this season, Lin's production shouldn't be overlooked by those in mid-sized or deeper leagues in need of help at guard. Through four games, Lin is averaging 12.8 points, 3.8 assists, three rebounds, and 0.5 steals, and has knocked down seven three-pointers already. He'll continue to get healthy minutes as the first guard off the Charlotte bench.

It was the second consecutive 18-point effort for the Hornets' new shooting guard, who will get the starting nod at the two as part of the domino effect of Michael Kidd-Gilchrist's shoulder surgery. Lin has actually put together a very encouraging preaseason overall, scoring in double-digits in all six outings he has participated in and even posting an impressive 26 boards over that span as well. While he will bring a degree of defensive liability, the 27-year-old will should also form a potent offensive backcourt with Kemba Walker.
