Whiteside scored 10 points (4-8 FG, 2-4 FT) to go along with a game-high 12 rebounds, five blocks and one assist in 28 minutes during Sunday's Game 7 win over the Hornets.
EDGE Analysis
Whiteside was a force throughout the series, registering five double-doubles en route to averages of 13.1 points, 11.4 rebounds and 3.4 blocks per game. The big man figures to have a favorable matchup regardless of who Miami plays in the next round, as he had successful run-ins with both Toronto and Indiana this season.

Whiteside (hand) scored 12 points (5-7 FG, 2-3 FT) while adding seven rebounds and four blocks in 28 minutes during Friday's win over the Hornets in Game 6 of their first round series.
EDGE Analysis
The hand injury he suffered in Game 5 didn't appear to hamper Whiteside too much, although he failed to record double-digit rebounds for only the second time in the series. He'll get a day to heal up before the series shifts back to Miami on Sunday for a decisive Game 7, but unless he has some kind of setback expect Whiteside to be in the starting five.

Whiteside (hand) says his hand is swollen, but he will play against the Hornets on Friday, Ethan J. Skolnick of the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Whiteside plans to play through the pain of a hand injury that he supposedly contracted during a Game 5 loss to the Hornets. It is unclear at this time what exactly is wrong with Whiteside's hand, but for now it should be assumed that he will play Friday as he said he would. The status of Whiteside's hand should be monitored up until game time as more will most likely become known before Game 6's shootaround on Friday.

Whiteside underwent X-rays on his hand following Wednesday's loss to the Hornets, Ethan Skolnick of the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
The X-rays came back negative, but Whiteside was spotted with a wrap on his hand following Wednesday's contest. It does not appear that Whiteside is dealing with any sort of setback that would prevent him from playing in Friday's all-important Game 6, but his status will become clearer as game time approaches.

Whiteside recorded 11 points (5-8 FG, 1-2 FT), 12 rebounds, and three blocked shots over 32 minutes in Wednesday's Game 5 loss to the Hornets.
EDGE Analysis
Whiteside responded to a poor Game 4 performance with another double-double on Wednesday. His scoring has certainly fallen off from earlier in the series, but it's good to see him return to double-digit rebounding form. He's now averaging 14.0 points and 12.2 rebounds this playoffs. It's "win or go home" for Miami in Game 6, so expect the dynamic center to give it his all on Friday night.

Whiteside told the media Wednesday that his thigh bruise is improving, Jason Lieser of the Palm Beach Post reports. "It's getting better. I feel better," Whiteside said.
EDGE Analysis
Whiteside sustained the bruise during the Heat's Game 3 loss to Charlotte, but after resting Sunday and and going through a light pregame workout Monday morning he was able to start Game 4 and play through the lingering discomfort. The big man played a series-low 25 minutes, however, and finished with just eight points, seven rebounds and three blocks, a fairly moderate statistical output by his standards. Entering Monday, Whiteside had been averaging 17 points, 14 rebounds and three blocks through the first three games of the series. The 26-year-old, who will be an unrestricted free agent come July 1, will look to get back on track Wednesday night in Miami as the Heat try to regain control of the series.

Whiteside (thigh) compiled eight points (3-5 FG, 2-5 FT), seven rebounds, and three blocks over 25 minutes in Monday's 89-85 Game 4 loss to the Hornets.
EDGE Analysis
Whiteside's minutes and overall effectiveness may have been limited by the thigh bruise he was nursing heading into the contest, as he finished with his lowest point total since April 1 and his lowest rebound total since March 17. The center still did his usual strong work in the blocks department, but the Heat may need him to take on a more active role offensively if the team hopes to take a 3-2 advantage when the series shifts back to Miami on Wednesday for Game 5.

After going through a pregame workout, Whiteside (thigh) says he will play in Monday's Game 4 against the Hornets, Jason Lieser of the Palm Beach Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Whiteside has been bothered by a thigh bruise suffered late in Saturday's Game 3, but after resting Sunday and receiving treatment the big man will be available Monday night. Whiteside figures to start at his usual center spot, and he could see an expanded role with Charlotte again going with a larger starting lineup. Despite the thigh injury, Whiteside played a series-high 34 minutes in Game 3, finishing with 13 points, 18 rebounds, and four blocks.

Whiteside (thigh) is warming up with the intent to play in Monday's Game 4 against the Hornets, Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer reports.
EDGE Analysis
While Whiteside continues to officially be listed as a game-time call, this is certainly encouraging news for the Heat, especially with Charlotte expected to again to with a larger lineup in Game 4. In the event Whiteside is ultimately held out, Amar'e Stoudemire would likely get the start in his place.

Whiteside (thigh) is considered questionable to play in Monday's Game 4 against the Hornets, Ethan Skolnick of the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Whiteside sustained a thigh bruise late in Saturday's Game 3 loss and was held out of practice Sunday while dealing with residual soreness. At shootaround Monday, coach Erik Spoelstra said the team is yet to come to a decision on Whiteside's status, noting that the big man will undergo treatment and further evaluations throughout the afternoon. Whiteside may end up being close to a game-time decision with tip-off set for 7:00 PM ET.
