The four three-pointers was a season high and it was Williams' first game with 20 or more points since Jan. 13 against the Nets. Williams did enough this season that he should have at least a bench role for the Knicks in 2016-17.

Williams went for 15 points (5-8 FG, 5-6 FT), eight rebounds, and two assists in 35 minutes during the Knicks' 91-89 loss to the Mavericks on Wednesday.

Williams committed four turnovers, but filled in fairly well for the injured Kristaps Porzingis (shoulder). It's unclear whether Porzingis' sore shoulder will keep him out on Friday against the Nets, but if so Williams will likely draw another start and make for an attractive DFS bargain.

Williams undeniably struggled from the field and the charity stripe, but he was able to contribute in every category except three-pointers. Williams will likely slide back into a reserve role once Porzingis is healthy enough to return, but Williams had scored in double figures during each of the four previous games despite seeing no more than 21 minutes in any of them.

Williams will start in Sunday's matchup with the Lakers, Ian Begley of ESPN reports.

The former first-round pick's minutes have been modest but steady since early February, and he continues to be a respectable, albeit somewhat inconsistent source of scoring and rebounds.

Williams will draw the start at power forward Saturday against the Pistons, Knicks sideline reporter Rebecca Haarlow reports.

Williams is getting the start because Kristaps Porzingis was a surprise late scratch. Due to this news coming in so late, and the extended playing time opportunity, Williams is an intriguing play in daily formats. The extent of Porzingis' injury is currently unclear, but Williams is an interesting play whenever he sits out.

Williams posted 11 points (2-4 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 7-8 FT) and three rebounds in 21 minutes during the Knicks' 108-95 win against the Magic on Friday.

EDGE Analysis

Williams scored in double figures for the first time since Jan. 31. He had 10 such showings in January, but has become a non-factor in fantasy during the month of February, scoring less than half as many points per game in less than half as many minutes compared to January.

Williams had begun to see more run off the bench toward the end of January, but now that the starting lineup is back to full health again with Carmelo Anthony (knee) back in the fold, the 24-year-old's opportunities for playing time appear to have disintegrated.
