Williams will start at power forward for Tuesday's game against the Thunder.
EDGE Analysis
Williams has played in just one of the Heat's last four games, logging a total of eight minutes during that span. However, with Josh McRoberts (foot) ruled out indefinitely, Williams will have the first shot at replacing him in the starting lineup, which should give him the opportunity to see a significant increase in playing time. That said, guys like James Johnson and Luke Babbitt could cut into his added minutes, so Williams still might struggle to post big numbers across the board despite the promotion.

Williams (coach's decision) didn't play in Monday's 112-101 win over the Wizards.
EDGE Analysis
Williams had averaged 8.8 points and 4.3 rebounds in 22.8 minutes per game over the last four contests while serving as the backup at power forward to Josh McRoberts, but he dropped out of the rotation Monday with James Johnson (shoulder) returning to action. Look for Williams to remain third on the depth chart at the position going forward, which means he'll rarely see the floor in most games.

Williams scored a season-high 17 points (6-10 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 5-7 FT) to go with two steals, one rebound and one assist across 31 minutes in Friday's 114-84 loss to the Cavaliers.
EDGE Analysis
The Heat had only eight available players Friday and starting power forward Josh McRoberts was struggling early, so Williams was able to see starter-level minutes for the first time all season. While his scoring led the Heat's bench, Williams lack of impact on the defensive end hinders him both in real-life and fantasy terms. So long as the Heat are able to get back one or two players within the next few games, Williams will likely see most of his playing time -- and perhaps his spot in coach Erik Spoelstra's rotation -- dwindle.

Williams will not start Saturday's game against the Trail Blazers, according to Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel.
EDGE Analysis
Williams started nine straight games before missing the last two games with a back injury, and although he will play Saturday night, head coach Erik Spoelstra will stick with Josh McRoberts at the starting power forward spot.

Head coach Erick Spoelstra indicated Saturday that Williams (back) will be "good to go" for their matchup against the Trail Blazers, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
Williams was sidelined for the previous two games while dealing with a back injury. Josh McRoberts got the start at power forward during those contests. Barring any setbacks, Williams will presumably return to the starting role and take on his usual workload.

Williams (back) is considered questionable for Saturday's contest versus the Trail Blazers, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
Williams has missed the previous two games, and appears to be trending toward a true game-time decision Saturday. If he cannot go both Josh McRoberts and James Johnson would presumably handle most of the load at power forward.

Derrick Williams is considered to play in Thursday's matchup against the Jazz due to back spasms, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
Williams must have aggravated his back in pregame warmups, as it was not announced he was questionable to play until shortly after tip-off. As a result, Josh McRoberts and Luke Babbit figure to see a heavier workload than usual if Williams indeed cannot go.

Williams will play a reserve role in Wednesday's matchup against the Nuggets.
EDGE Analysis
Williams has started the previous nine games at power forward, but the Heat will shake things up by replacing him with Josh McRoberts on Wednesday. The 25-year-old averaged 16.2 minutes per game as a starter, and should see that workload slightly reduced coming off the bench.

Williams scored a season-high 13 points (5-9 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT) to go with two rebounds and one block across 16 minutes in Saturday's 110-107 loss to the Grizzlies.
EDGE Analysis
Williams has started the past eight games at power forward, but this was only the second time in that span that he's eclipsed double figures in the scoring column. Despite coming off the bench, James Johnson continues to dominate the minutes at power forward and has turned in a more well-rounded portfolio of fantasy production, making him a more appealing target in deeper leagues than Williams.

Williams started at power forward and provided five points (2-6 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), one rebound and one steal across 16 minutes in Tuesday's 94-90 loss to the Spurs.
EDGE Analysis
Williams entered the starting lineup over Luke Babbitt for the first time all season, but didn't make much of a mark on the box score, as coach Erik Spoelstra chose to take a committee approach to filling the minutes at the position. In addition to Williams and Babbitt (10 minutes), James Johnson (18 minutes) and starting small forward Justise Winslow also saw involvement at power forward, severely inhibiting the impact of the first three players. Williams may start again Tuesday against the Hawks, but it'll be tough to justify adding him in most formats until he begins seeing more extensive playing time.
