Nicholson registered 19 points (7-13 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 3-3 FT) and five rebounds across 32 minutes in Saturday's 124-119 preseason loss to the Kings.
EDGE Analysis
Nicholson has been excellent while seeing expanded playing time over the last two games, following up his double-double Thursday against the 76ers with a preseason-high scoring total. With Ian Mahinmi (knee) expected to miss around four-to-six weeks, Nicholson could be asked to fill some of the minutes at center behind starter Marcin Gortat, but it may be difficult for him to see enough court time to deliver value in most fantasy leagues.

Nicholson tallied 11 points (4-9 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 0-2 FT), 12 rebounds, and one steal across 30 minutes in Thursday's 100-79 preseason win over the 76ers.
EDGE Analysis
With Markieff Morris (foot) getting ruled out shortly before tip off, Nicholson was a late entry into the starting five and received a preseason-high minute load. He was able to generate a double-double out of it thanks to some hot three-point shooting, but it's unlikely to lead to expanded court time for Nicholson when the regular season arrives. He's behind Morris, Marcin Gortat, Ian Mahinmi and Jason Smith in the Wizards' rotation of big men, a role that may not allow him to see many minutes in competitive games.

Nicholson will start at power forward for Thursday's game against the Sixers, Candace Buckner of the Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Markieff Morris (foot) was originally slated to make a return to the court, but he ended up being a late scratch, giving Nicholson the opportunity to join the starting lineup. Look for Nicholson to potentially see additional minutes Thursday, while Jason Smith could see additional time as well.

Nicholson signed a four-year, $26 million contract with the Wizards on Sunday, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Nicholson was a rotational player for the Magic this past season, seeing just under 15 minutes per game, while also posting averages of 6.9 points and 3.6 rebounds. Nicholson should fight for minutes at the power forward spot with both Markieff Morris and Drew Gooden for the Wizards, so despite potentially seeing a boost in value by moving to a new team, he still doesn't have a direct path to consistent minutes. His projected role should become much more clear once training camp rolls around.

The Magic won't extend a qualifying offer to Nicholson, making him an unrestricted free agent, Zach Lowe of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Had the Magic extended Nicholson a qualifying offer, they would have had the ability to match any offer sheet given to the big man in restricted free agency, but the team's decision to forgo the qualifying offer indicates that Nicholson will likely head to a new organization this offseason. A first-round pick out of St. Bonaventure in 2012, Nicholson never really saw his role change during his four seasons with the Magic, averaging between 12.3 and 16.7 minutes per game in those campaigns. A change of scenery should be a welcome development.

Nicholson was perfect from the field while scoring a career-high 24 points (9-9 FG, 3-3 3Pt, 3-6 FT) in Tuesday's 139-105 win against the Nets.
EDGE Analysis
Forget about Nicholson's perfect shooting, he was able to accomplish a career game in just 21 minutes on the court, albeit against a joke of a matchup in the Nets. Nicholson has made the most of his minutes recently, averaging 14.6 points during just 15.8 minutes per game over the last five.

Nicholson compiled 19 points (8-12 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 1-1 FT), six rebounds, and one assist in 18 minutes during the Magic's 108-97 loss to the Heat on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Nicholson has scored 13 points or more in four of his last five appearances. He is averaging 7.4 points and 3.9 rebounds in 12 minutes during nine March games. Given the injuries to Nikola Vucevic (groin) and Ersan Ilyasova (collarbone), Nicholson could continue to receive a sizable share of minutes off the bench going forward.

Nicholson finished with 13 points (5-10 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds, three assists, two blocks, and one steal in 23 minutes during the Magic's 107-99 loss to the Hornets on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Nicholson had played 24 minutes combined during his four prior appearances in March, and saw the floor just five times in February. There was a 29-game stretch between November and December during which Nicholson played in every contest. However, he has long been an afterthought in coach Scott Skiles' rotation. With that being said, Nikola Vucevic is nursing a strained groin, and has missed six straight games. As a result, Nicholson could be called upon more often, at least until Vucevic is able to return.

Nicholson has seen a reduced role of late, seeing double-digit minutes in just one of the last 16 games.
EDGE Analysis
Nicholson has had a few stretches this season when his minutes load has crept into the low-to-mid-20s, but he's fallen out of favor over the last month, racking up DNP-CDs and routinely being relegated to mop up duty. The St. Bonaventure product is unlikely to make a tangible impact this season, barring multiple injuries or a drastic roster shakeup.

Nicholson managed two points (0-3 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds, and one block in seven minutes during the Magic's 113-94 loss to the Celtics on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Nicholson has only appeared in only six of the last nine games while playing fewer than 10 minutes each night. He is averaging 16 minutes per game this season, but the 26-year-old seems be in Magic coach Scott Skiles' dog-house right now. Having lost eight in a row, it's possible management will elect to shake things up at the trade deadline. However, it's unlikely Nicholson will become fantasy relevant barring extreme circumstances.
