The Magic won't extend a qualifying offer to Nicholson, making him an unrestricted free agent, Zach Lowe of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Had the Magic extended Nicholson a qualifying offer, they would have had the ability to match any offer sheet given to the big man in restricted free agency, but the team's decision to forgo the qualifying offer indicates that Nicholson will likely head to a new organization this offseason. A first-round pick out of St. Bonaventure in 2012, Nicholson never really saw his role change during his four seasons with the Magic, averaging between 12.3 and 16.7 minutes per game in those campaigns. A change of scenery should be a welcome development.
