Yu Darvish was terrific in Saturday's victory over the Angels, allowing just two runs on three hits over seven innings of work while striking out 11. Darvish mixed his wide array of pitches wand painted the corners exceptionally. The only runs against him came via a pair of RBI singles in the third and fifth innings. Darvish seems to be getting more comfortable. He's now sporting an 11-6 record, a 3.88 ERA and a 132/61 K/BB ratio. The White Sox are up next.

Yu Darvish was tagged for seven runs in 6 1/3 innings by the Mariners on Saturday. On the plus side, the Rangers likely would have lost tonight even if Darvish had given up just one run. On the minus side is everything else. The extra rest was supposed to do Darvish some good -- he hadn't pitched in 13 days -- but he was very sloppy in walking four, hitting a batter and giving up eight hits tonight. He's now 10-6 with a 3.96 ERA.

Yu Darvish won't make his final first-half start. The Rangers simply want to give Darvish an extra bit of rest heading into the All-Star break. He has posted a solid 3.59 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 117/53 K/BB ratio over the first 102 2/3 innings of his major league career.

Yu Darvish took a loss after allowing three runs in seven innings and striking out 11 against the A's on Sunday. The loss was Darvish's first in Arlington. He had won all seven of his previous starts at home. Tonight's outing was just about as solid as most of his victories, but the Rangers simply couldn't solve Travis Blackley in the 3-1 loss.

Yu Darvish struck out 10 while allowing four runs over 6 2/3 innings in Tuesday night's 7-5 win over the Tigers. He gave up only four hits and one walk. The victory was Darvish's 10th of the season. One worry is that he threw 113 pitches after tossing a career-high 122 and is now averaging nearly 110 pitches per start. It's a concern given that he admitted earlier this month to having some fatigue, but for now he's obviously a must-start each time out. Darvish is 10-4 with a 3.59 ERA in his first season in the majors.

Yu Darvish showed no signs of fatigue in his impressive performance over the Astros on Friday, allowing just two runs on seven hits in his eight innings of work. Darvish matched his season-high of 11 strikeouts while walking two in the game. He allowed an RBI single to Jed Lowrie in the third inning and a solo homer to Justin Maxwell in the seventh, shutting the Astros down the remainder of the evening. Perhaps seeing the strong results from this outing, the Rangers will utilize off days in the future to allow Darvish to pitch on the five days' rest that he'd grown accustomed to in Japan. He'll take an 8-4 record and 3.57 ERA with him into spacious PetCo Park where he'll battle the Padres on Wednesday.

Yu Darvish admits to having some fatigue recently. Darvish was used to pitching on five days' rest in Japan, so it's no surprise that his body is having a little trouble adjusting to only four days off between starts. He'll have had seven days of rest before Friday's start, and he's been able to tell the difference. "There was some fatigue that I was feeling," Darvish said. "I don't know if I was aware of that. Just getting this time off has helped me out a lot. My body feels better." We look for Darvish to have a strong bounce-back outing against the Astros.

The Rangers will utilize their off day next week to give Yu Darvish a few extra days of rest, pushing his start until Friday. They say it has nothing to do with his brutal outing against the Athletics on Friday, it's simply wanting him to have a few extra days. Darvish has been an enigma so far in his major league career, looking downright un-hittable at times, while not being able to find the plate at others. He'll now take on the Astros at home on Friday.

Yu Darvish lost after giving up three runs -- two earned -- in 6 1/3 innings Saturday against the Angels. Darvish was outstanding, but the Rangers defense came up short. Elvis Andrus made an error on the very first play of the game, and both Mike Napoli and Adrian Beltre were charged with errors in the sixth, leading to a run. The two runs in the seventh came after a bunt single, an infield single and a single to the outfielder. Darvish left down 2-1 at that point, and Koji Uehara was unable to strand the runner on third.

Yu Darvish was removed from Sunday's game against the Blue Jays due to back stiffness. He complained of the issue after the fifth inning, and received treatment following the game. Darvish isn't a candidate for the disabled list and should be considered day-to-day.
