Yu Darvish lost after giving up three runs -- two earned -- in 6 1/3 innings Saturday against the Angels.
Darvish was outstanding, but the Rangers defense came up short. Elvis Andrus made an error on the very first play of the game, and both Mike Napoli and Adrian Beltre were charged with errors in the sixth, leading to a run. The two runs in the seventh came after a bunt single, an infield single and a single to the outfielder. Darvish left down 2-1 at that point, and Koji Uehara was unable to strand the runner on third.
