Peralta (2-0) gave up three runs on five hits and four walks while striking out seven over six innings in Toronto on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Well, this is interesting. Although the lack of control in this one was less than ideal, Peralta's surprisingly posted two strong outings against quality lineups to open the season. His track record is not a positive one -- after all, he's turned in two consecutive seasons with a high-fours ERA and 1.50-plus WHIP -- but Peralta's one of the hardest-throwing pitchers in the majors, and he does a good job keeping the ball on the ground. There's reason for owners in deeper formats to be interested in the 27-year-old righty, who'll make his next start Sunday in Cincinnati.

Peralta (1-0) tossed five shutout innings against the Rockies in Wednesday's home win, striking out five while allowing three hits and a walk.
EDGE Analysis
Although that's an efficient-looking stat line, it's worth noting that it took Peralta 90 pitches to get through 18 batters -- that's five pitches per batter, a sky-high figure. Peralta's last two campaigns have been marked by poor control and massive hittability, so although it's nice to see him keep the Rockies off the board (albeit at home, not at Coors Field), he's a long way from changing hearts and minds in the fantasy community. That said, if he performs well in Toronto when he next takes the ball Tuesday, it'll force us to reevaluate his prospects.

Peralta will start the third game of the season for the Brewers.
EDGE Analysis
Peralta, who pitched on Opening Day for the Brewers last season, will toe the mound in the third game of the season after an impressive spring. After pitching in the WBC, Peralta posted a 0.71 ERA and 0.95 WHIP across 12.2 innings this spring. After being sent down mid-season in 2016, the 27-year-old rebounded with a 2.92 ERA in the 10 games he played after being recalled. Peralta will look to pick up where he left off at the end of last season.

Peralta is the starting pitcher for the Dominican Republic for their World Baseball Classic matchup with Colombia on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
The Brewers hurler will attempt to get the Dominican squad up to 3-0, but he'll have to get through a 1-1 Colombian team that nearly took down Team USA earlier in the tournament. Peralta's numbers from last year weren't fantastic (4.86 ERA, 1.34 HR/9), but the fact that Colombia's lineup doesn't pose as much major league talent as some of the other countries in the tournament could help his cause.

Peralta will pitch in a minor league game Friday before leaving for the World Baseball Classic on Sunday, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Craig Counsell says the right-hander will be limited to 45 pitches as he treats the game as more of a workout. Peralta has elected to represent the Dominican Republic in this year's WBC, a tournament which should serve as a better indication of his progression this offseason. The 22-year-old is coming off a forgettable 2016 season in which he posted a career-high 4.86 ERA over 23 starts.

Peralta and the Brewers avoided arbitration on Friday with a $4.275 million deal, Jon Heyman of Today's Knuckleball reports.
EDGE Analysis
Peralta posted a career-worse 4.86 ERA in 127.2 innings in 2016, but will still get a significant pay raise through the arbitration system. However, the 27-year-old will likely need to turn things around in 2017 lest the rebuilding Brewers deem him and his salary expendable.

Peralta allowed three runs (two earned) on five hits and three walks while striking out five across six innings in Sunday's loss to the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
Peralta was a tough-luck loser Sunday, as he took the loss despite allowing just two extra-base hits and inducing nine ground ball outs. Peralta has been solid over his last five starts, going at least six innings in each and allowing more than three runs just once. He will face a tough test in his final start of the season Sunday at Coors Field.

Peralta's next start has been pushed back to Sunday, MLB.com's Adam McCalvy reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Brewers appear poised to work with a six-man rotation over the final 12 days of the regular season, with Taylor Jungmann slotting into the rotation Saturday against the Reds. In addition to starting Sunday against Cincinnati, Peralta is also in line to make one final start next Sunday in Coors Field.

Peralta earned his seventh win of the season Sunday versus the Cubs, allowing just one run on nine hits and a walk with five strikeouts across six strong innings.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander has struggled on the whole this season, as his 5.21 ERA would suggest, but he has compiled a couple of wins with 11 punchouts and a 3.29 ERA in two starts versus the Cubs this month. He has now tossed back-to-back quality starts, which he has only done on one other occasion this season, and will look to build off of his recent success Saturday versus the Reds.

Peralta (6-10) went six innings allowing three runs on six hits and a walk, while striking out five against the Reds on Monday. He took the loss as the Brewers were shut out 3-0.
EDGE Analysis
Peralta lowered his ERA to 5.42 with the quality start, and now has a 1.57 WHIP and .309 batting average against. On the bright side, Peralta does have a 3.56 ERA and 21:3 K:BB ratio over his last three starts. Peralta features a mid-to-high 90's fastball, but has failed to translate that live arm into many whiffs this year, posting a K/9 rate of just 6.6 despite the recent string of strikeouts. He'll hope to receive more run support his next time out against the Cubs on Saturday.
