Peralta gave up one hit and struck out two in a scoreless ninth inning Monday against the Angels to earn his first career save.
EDGE Analysis
This is a pretty unique and scary closer-by-committee situation, as Peralta now appears to be the slight favorite for saves going forward, even though he has thrown just 3.2 innings in the big leagues this season. He had a 4.15 ERA in 30.1 innings as a reliever at Triple-A, so it's not like he was lights out en route to his big-league promotion a little over a week ago. Brandon Maurer, Tim Hill and Kevin McCarthy could all be in the mix for saves as well, and considering Peralta had a 10.71 ERA in 21 career MLB innings as a reliever prior to this contest, it seems unlikely that he is able to hold the job over the rest of the season.

The Royals selected Peralta's contract from Triple-A Omaha ahead of Sunday's game against the Astros.
EDGE Analysis
After working almost exclusively as a starter with the Brewers for parts of the past six seasons, Peralta transitioned to long-relief duty after joining the Royals on a one-year pact over the winter. The right-hander hasn't been especially effective in that capacity, supplying a 4.37 ERA, 1.63 WHIP and 39 strikeouts over 35 innings with Omaha. He may just provide the Kansas City bullpen with a fresh arm in the short term before heading back to the minors.

Peralta cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Omaha on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Peralta was designated for assignment by the Royals on Thursday and subsequently went through waivers unclaimed. The 28-year-old posted a 7.85 ERA and 1.83 WHIP over 19 appearances (57.1 innings) with Milwaukee last season, and should serve as organizational pitching depth for Kansas City.

Peralta was designated for assignment by the Royals on Thursday, Joel Goldberg of FOX Sports Kansas City reports.
EDGE Analysis
Peralta failed to earn a spot on the Opening Day roster and was removed from the 40-man in order to make room for infielder Ryan Goins. If the right-hander passes through waivers unclaimed, he will report to Triple-A Omaha. During 19 appearances with Milwaukee last season, Peralta posted a 7.85 ERA and 1.83 WHIP.

Peralta signed a one-year contract with the Royals on Tuesday that includes a club option for 2018, Rustin Dodd of The Kansas City Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's been a tough couple of years for Peralta. Since being named the Opening Day starter for Milwaukee in 2016, the 28-year-old hurler has struggled to a 5.79 ERA, 1.62 WHIP and 145:75 K:BB across 185 major-league innings. He was also shifted to the bullpen last season after posting a 6.08 ERA across his first eight starts, though he continued to struggle in that role, compiling a brutal 11.94 ERA across 17.1 innings before ultimately being designated for assignment. It's unclear if the Royals will look to return him to starting or keep him in the bullpen next season. He boasts a high-90s fastball that could work to his advantage if he's able to cut down on the amount of walks (5.0 BB/9 in 2017) and homers (1.6 HR/9 in 2017) he allows.

Peralta is set to become a free agent at this end of this season.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander elected free agency Friday, and will attempt to restart his career elsewhere after spending his entire professional career in Milwaukee. Peralta only appeared in 19 games for the Brewers this season, eight of which were starts, while accumulated a 7.85 ERA and 1.83 WHIP. A team may take a chance and try to work Peralta back into the majors as a starter, but he may just wind up serving out of the bullpen if he's able to find a home.

Peralta was outrighted to Triple-A Colorado Springs on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
It was expected that Peralta would wind up returning to the Sky Sox after getting designated for assignment last Saturday. He was unable to take advantage of what would've been a lengthy relief appearance against the Nationals last week, giving up seven earned runs in 1.2 innings. The 28-year-old will likely continue working as a relief pitcher with Colorado Springs, and could make another appearance with Milwaukee this season if he can turn things around.

Peralta was designated for assignment by the Brewers on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
The move from the rotation to the bullpen didn't result in a turnaround for Peralta -- in fact, he was even worse working in shorter spurts, posting a dismal 11.94 ERA and 2.48 WHIP in 11 relief appearances. Given the money owed to Peralta, it seems likely he will pass through waivers unclaimed and accept an outright assignment to Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Peralta (calf) was activated from the 10-day disabled list Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Peralta, who opened the season as a member of the Brewers' rotation, will continue to work out of the bullpen now that he's healthy again following a three-appearance rehab assignment. He'll see most of his duties in long relief, effectively assuming the duties that had previously fallen to Rob Scahill, who was designated for assignment Sunday in a corresponding move.

Peralta (calf) is set to return to the Brewers this weekend in Philadelphia, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
Peralta has been out since June 21 with a right calf strain, but has been able to spend the past couple weeks with Triple-A Colorado Springs on a rehab assignment. He tossed two innings against Omaha on Thursday, retiring all six opposing batters while sprinkling in a pair of strikeouts. Peralta figures to rejoin the bullpen upon his arrival, where spent over a month getting used to his new role before landing on the disabled list.
