Ted Lilly (shoulder) threw a simulated game at the Dodgers' spring training complex in Arizona Saturday. The next step could be making a rehab start. Lilly has missed over two months of action with shoulder woes and was scratched from a scheduled rehab outing earlier this month. He appears to be making progress, but his return certainly isn't imminent.

Ted Lilly (shoulder) was scratched from his scheduled rehab start with High-A Rancho Cucamonga on Friday due to shoulder soreness. Lilly has been dealing with the shoulder issue for two months now, and is expected to need multiple rehab outings before returning to the Dodgers rotation. He's expected to test it out by throwing in the bullpen in a few days, and would then proceed to game action. With this setback, it's questionable that he'll return to the team before the end of August.

Ted Lilly (shoulder) completed a successful bullpen session Friday at Citi Field. Lilly said he was able to throw "close to 100 percent" and didn't report any issues. He'll likely need to throw at least one more bullpen session before being cleared for a rehab assignment.

Ted Lilly (shoulder) isn't ready to throw from a mound yet, but he is currently throwing pitches off flat ground. "He's at the point of building arm strength," said Dodgers manager Don Mattingly. "He's been wanting to get on the mound, but we're not there." There's no timetable for his return.

Dodgers transferred LHP Ted Lilly from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list. The move clears a spot for Luis Cruz on the 40-man roster. Lilly recently began playing catch, but his return can now be ruled out until late July.

Ted Lilly (shoulder) played catch Friday for the first time since May 23. Good news. Lilly has missed a month with shoulder inflammation and while an MRI ruled out any structural damage, there's no clear timetable for his return. Nathan Eovaldi will continue to fill his spot in the starting rotation and should be owned in NL-only fantasy leagues.

Ted Lilly (shoulder) has yet to resume throwing. Lilly recently underwent an MRI on his left shoulder which revealed no structural damage, but there's no timeline for his return. "Teddy is status quo," said Dodgers manager Don Mattingly. "It doesn't seem like there has been much change." Nathan Eovaldi will continue to fill his spot in the starting rotation for now and should be owned in all NL-only leagues.

The results of Ted Lilly's MRI revealed no structural damage to his left shoulder. Lilly made his second trip to the disabled list earlier this week. "The MRI went good," manager Don Mattingly said. "That was good for us. With the medication, they expect him to have a few days off here with that, and basically start moving forward." Lilly isn't a candidate for surgery at this time, though his return to the Dodgers is not considered imminent. He remains without a timetable.

Ted Lilly (shoulder) is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Friday. Lilly landed on the disabled list earlier this week after giving up eight runs over 3 1/3 innings last Thursday night. The veteran left-hander has been taking anti-inflammatory medication and remains hopeful that he won't have to miss much more time. We should know more on his status after Friday.

According to MLB.com's Alex Angert, Ted Lilly may be dealing with an undisclosed injury. Angert's ''theory'' is that the Dodgers have been vague on the status of Lilly so they could negotiate with Roy Oswalt without compromising leverage. Lilly is coming off his first loss of the season and could be replaced in the rotation by Nathan Eovaldi, who was scratched from his start for Double-A Chattanooga on Saturday. The Dodgers have yet to confirm if a roster move is imminent.
