Ted Lilly allowed one run over five innings Wednesday, but the Dodgers lost to the Mets in extra innings. Lilly was making his first start of the season following September shoulder surgery, and the start had to be a relief to the newly pitching-deficient Dodgers. Lilly did allow six hits but kept the Mets at bay by registering seven strikeouts. His next start will come Monday against the Rockies at Dodger Stadium.

Dodgers activated LHP Ted Lilly from the 15-day disabled list. Lilly will start for the Dodgers on Wednesday night against the Mets. He is on his way back from September shoulder surgery and could struggle early on as he rebuilds the strength in his throwing arm. But the 37-year-old left-hander should eventually take on fantasy value.

Ted Lilly (shoulder) will be activated from the disabled list to start next Wednesday against the Mets. Lilly will take the place of Chris Capuano, who was placed on the disabled list this week with a calf strain. The 37-year-old southpaw had surgery on his shoulder last September and wasn't overly impressive in his two rehab starts with High-A Rancho Cucamonga. Most fantasy owners can afford to wait and see for now.

Ted Lilly allowed four runs (three earned) in five innings Tuesday in a rehab start with High-A Rancho Cucamonga. Lilly gave up seven hits and a walk while striking out five. There's been some debate about his readiness following shoulder surgery, but the Dodgers may be forced to put him into the rotation as a result of Chris Capuano's calf injury.

Ted Lilly (shoulder) will make his next rehab start with Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday. Lilly originally refused to make another rehab start, as he feels he's totally healthy and ready to be activated. He's obviously changed his mind, though. It's not clear whether he'll make an additional rehab start after Tuesday or be activated.

Ted Lilly (shoulder) will make his next minor league rehab start. Lilly initially declined to continue his rehab assignment, but he has apparently had a change of heart. The Dodgers don't think he's ready to pitch in the majors at the moment, but that could change soon. Chris Capuano will take Zack Greinke's spot in the rotation for now.

Mark Saxon of ESPNLosAngeles.com believes that Ted Lilly might be the leading candidate to assume Zack Greinke's spot in the rotation. The other option is Chris Capuano, but Capuano isn't as stretched out as Lilly is right now, and the Dodgers don't believe Lilly would take to the bullpen very well. Lilly is on a rehab assignment, but he's been healthy for a while and reached 90 pitches Wednesday in his most recent outing. Greinke's next turn comes up on Tuesday.

The Dodgers will make a decision on what to do with Ted Lilly (shoulder) following his next bullpen session. Lilly made his second rehab start Wednesday, and it's possible he might refuse to make another one. He's not injured, but the Dodgers don't have room for him in their rotation. Unless he's traded, he'll probably just replace Aaron Harang as a high-priced long reliever.

Ted Lilly (shoulder) allowed six runs over six innings Wednesday in a rehab start at Triple-A Albuquerque. Lilly made it to 90 pitches and racked up five strikeouts, but he also yielded eight hits and a walk. He missed time this spring because of the flu and lingering concerns about his throwing shoulder, and the Dodgers seem likely to ask him to make at least one more rehab start. Better results would be welcome.
