Dodgers activated LHP Ted Lilly from the 15-day disabled list. Lilly missed almost two full months with a back injury. The veteran left-hander will pitch out of the Dodgers' bullpen initially and carries no fantasy relevance.

Ted Lilly (neck) threw a simulated game Friday. Lilly has been sidelined since June 5 with a neck injury and is expected to move to the bullpen when he returns from the DL. "He was pretty good," manager Don Mattingly said. "We'll see how he bounces back and then just kind of keep trying to form a plan for him to be ready."

Ted Lilly (neck) has asked the Dodgers to move him into a relief role. Lilly has a chronic neck ailment and has come to the realization that he just can't stay healthy enough to handle a starter's workload. "Ideally, I'd like to be a starter and be effective in that role," said Lilly. "I've had a hard time staying healthy. I pitched Saturday, and it was sore Sunday. Yesterday, it was pretty good." Lilly will throw a simulated game every other day starting on Wednesday to prep him for a relief role.

Ted Lilly (neck) was knocked around in his second rehab start with High-A Rancho Cucamonga on Saturday, surrendering six runs on nine hits over 5 1/3 innings. Lilly also issued a walk, hit a batter and fanned seven during this outing. His health is more of a determining factor than the results, but the Dodgers now have Ricky Nolasco in tow and can be as patient as they want.

Stephen Fife threw seven scoreless innings in Sunday's win over the Phillies. With Teddy Lilly expected to be sidelined until after the All-Star break, Fife should remain in the Dodgers' rotation for at least the next two weeks. He hasn't allowed more than three earned runs in any outing this month and has managed to put together a solid 3.41 ERA over six starts.

Ted Lilly (neck) will make a minor league rehab start Sunday with High-A Rancho Cucamonga. Lilly was been sidelined since early June with a nagging neck injury, but he has made steady progress since receiving an epidural injection. The veteran southpaw could rejoin the Dodgers' rotation before the All-Star break if all goes well.

Ted Lilly (neck) could begin a rehab assignment this weekend. Lilly has been throwing from the mound for nearly a week and tossed another bullpen session Thursday with no issues. "He's probably getting close to going out and pitching, if everything goes good," Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said. Lilly could make it back prior to the All-Star break.

Ted Lilly (neck) threw a simulated game on Tuesday. Lilly was been sidelined since early June with a nagging neck injury. He received an epidural earlier this month and is apparently making some good progress. There's no word yet on when he'll be ready for a rehab assignment, but it can't be long assuming he comes out of the simulated game OK.

Ted Lilly (neck) could throw a bullpen session sometime over the weekend. Lilly received an epidural in his neck over a week ago but is just now getting around to possibly returning to the bump. If he's indeed able to throw off a mound this weekend, though, he should be able to start a rehab assignment shortly after that.

Ted Lilly received an epidural in his ailing neck on Tuesday. The Dodgers are hoping it will allow Lilly to recover from his neck sprain a little faster. At this point, the left-hander has no timetable for a return.
