The Rangers released Jungmann on Monday, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
EDGE Analysis
Following a two-year stay in Japan's Nippon Professional Baseball, Jungmann returned stateside in 2020 after signing a minor-league deal with the Rangers in February. The right-hander was expected to provide rotation depth at Triple-A Nashville, but he'll instead move on from the Rangers organization without having ever pitched in a regular-season game for any affiliate.

Jungmann signed a minor league contract with the Rangers on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Jungmann's big-league career lasted three seasons with the Brewers from 2015-17, recording a 4.54 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 126:65 K:BB across 146.2 total innings. The 30-year-old spent the last two years pitching in the Nippon Professional Baseball League in Japan for the Yomiuri Giants. Jungmann will report to Texas' minor league camp this spring and work towards earning a spot in the Rangers' bullpen moving forward.

Jungmann was released by the Brewers on Wednesday, in order to make room for Boone Logan on the 40-man roster.
EDGE Analysis
In addition, the team stated that Jungmann was "granted his release to pursue an opportunity in Japan." The 29-year-old former first round pick of the Brewers, Jungmann only appeared in 30 major-league games for the club since being drafted in 2011, and spent a majority of last season with Triple-A Colorado Springs. He faired well with the Sky Sox, posting a 2.59 ERA and 1.20 WHIP over 90.1 innings, but only pitched in one game for the Brewers in 2017.

Jungmann was optioned to Double-A Biloxi, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Brewers picked up Nick Franklin off waivers and opted to clear up a spot on their 25-man roster by sending Jungmann back to their Double-A affiliate. Jungmann has pitched just 0.2 innings for the big club this season, during which he's allowed one run.

Jungmann was named to the Brewers' Opening Day roster Saturday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jungmann was shut down near the end last season with a minor hip injury, but he entered camp healthy this year and pitched himself onto the Opening Day roster. The 27-year-old posted a 2.45 ERA with 14 strikeouts across 14.2 innings this spring. He'll work out of the bullpen in 2017, even though he's only pitched two professional innings of relief before.

Jungmann will be given a chance to make the big league club in a relief role this spring, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel's Tom Haudricourt reports.
EDGE Analysis
He was shut down at the end of the season with a minor hip injury, but will enter camp healthy and with a chance to compete for a bullpen spot. It seems like Jungmann is no longer viewed internally as a viable long-term rotation option, and therefore carries very little fantasy value going forward. He made two relief appearances last year, striking out two over two perfect frames, but has very little professional experience out of the bullpen.

Jungmann will not make his next scheduled start Friday against the Rockies due to a hip injury, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's unclear when or how the ailment came about, but it must be bothering the right-hander enough to already rule him out for the weekend series. With that start out of the picture, Jungmann will finish the season with a 7.76 ERA and 1.76 WHIP over six starts and two relief appearances. The 26-year-old will likely compete for a spot in the starting rotation during spring training, but he'll have to improve from this season if he wants to have any chance of grabbing a spot on the major league roster.

Jungmann (0-5) allowed two runs on three hits, but he also walked four over four innings and lost against the Reds on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
He looked better than he did in his last MLB start back in April, but there were still causes for concern. Besides the second, Jungmann allowed two base runners per inning, and he yielded a home run to Joey Votto in the first. Since returning to the big leagues in the middle of September, Jungmann has a 3.00 ERA, 1.167 WHIP and five strikeouts versus four walks in six innings. He is scheduled to make another start next Saturday against Colorado.

Jungmann will start Saturday's game against the Reds, MLB.com's Adam McCalvy reports.
EDGE Analysis
This will be his first big league start since April, after struggling mightily with the Brewers and then with Triple-A Colorado Springs before righting the ship at Double-A. He has made two one-inning appearances out of the bullpen since joining the roster in September, so it's unclear how deep he will be allowed to go Saturday. Jungmann lines up to make two starts before the end of the season, but his struggles against big leaguers and Triple-A hitters earlier this season should scare off most prospective owners from streaming him down the stretch.

The Brewers recalled Jungmann from Double-A Biloxi on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Jungmann has had a trying season to say the least, as he opened the season in the Brewers' rotation but lost his spot, was rocked in the thin air of Colorado Springs, and then required a multi-week break to get his confidence back. However, he will get to end things on a high note, as he is back with the big club after posting a 2.51 ERA over 13 starts with Biloxi. There is plenty of uncertainty surrounding Jungmann moving forward, but he will get one more chance to show the Brewers what he can do in 2016.
