Jungmann was optioned to Triple-A Colorado Springs on Thursday. Jungmann will begin the season with the Skysox after he made his Triple-A debut last season. He posted a 3.98 ERA over 101.2 innings (18 starts) and will likely reach the major league level at some point this season, as he's the first in line to be called up in the event of an injury.

Jungmann is currently positioned as the Brewers' sixth starter, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Jungmann has never pitched in the majors and just reached Triple-A for the first time last season, so the Brewers could opt to add a veteran with some big league starts under his belt before the regular season kicks off. However, as things stand, Jungmann would be next in line should anything happen to one of the Brewers' projected five starters. In his Triple-A debut, Jungmann posted a 3.98 ERA and 101:46 K:BB ratio in 101.2 innings over 19 games (18 starts).

Jungmann has been added to the 40-man roster. With Thursday marking the deadline to place players on the 40-man, thus revoking their Rule 5 Draft eligibility, the Brewers added Jungmann, who spent last season at Triple-A Nashville. The 24-year-old pitched 101.2 cumulative innings, posting a 3.98 ERA and 8-6 record with a 1.318 WHIP.

Brewers right-handed pitching prospect Taylor Jungmann went six strong innings on Wednesday in his first start for Triple-A Nashville, striking out three. Jungmann bounced back from a rough Triple-A debut to allow four hits and one walk. He does not have the high ceiling that many thought was possible when he was drafted, but he could become a solid innings-eater at the back of a rotation. His WHIP and home run rates have jumped a little in his first two Triple-A appearances, but they could be due to small sample sizes. He could make his major league debut later this season if there is a need.

Brewers right-handed pitching prospect Taylor Jungmann fanned seven in six innings for Double-A Huntsville on Friday. Jungmann has been solid but not spectacular in 2014, putting up a 3.74 ERA with a 1.248 WHIP and 9.4 K/9 for the season. Batters are hitting .248/.319/.400 against him for the season, but with the lack of pitching prospects in the Brewers season, he could see time in Milwaukee if there is a need.

Brewers right-handed pitching prospect Taylor Jungmann allowed four hits and one run over six innings in his 2014 debut. Jungmann has failed to impress in his time in the Milwaukee organization, going from a potential top of the rotation stalwart to a back-end starter while struggling to get minor league hitters out. He has returned to Double-A Huntsville for 2014, so if he continues to do well, he could be promoted to Triple-A relatively quickly and finish the season in Milwaukee.

Brewers general manager Gord Ash said Friday that prospect Taylor Jungmann, who is currently on the minor league disabled list, is dealing with a nerve issue affecting the fingers on his right hand. Jungmann, who was the 12th overall selection in the 2011 draft, had been off to a brutal start to his 2013 campaign at Double-A Huntsville, posting a 7.89 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and 16/14 K/BB ratio over 21 2/3 innings. The organization hopes that being proactive in prescribing rest and treatment will alleviate the symptoms before the issue becomes more serious.
