Jungmann threw five shutout innings Thursday against the Mets, striking out five while working around four hits and two walks.
It was an effective outing for the rookie, but not an efficient one, as he needed 91 pitches to finish five frames and didn't earn a decision thanks to the sparkling pitching by Jacob deGrom on the other end. Still, Jungmann has provided the Brewers with a credible back-of-the-rotation presence in his four starts thus far -- he generally throws strikes and he's got a little bat-missing ability. It's worth remembering that once upon a time (that is, 2011), he was the 12th overall pick.

Jungmann (2-1) picked up the win against Colorado on Friday, giving up four runs over six innings of work. He allowed eight hits and one walk while striking out four.
The 25-year-old has now given up seven earned runs over 18 innings in his first three starts for the Brewers. His 7.00 strikeouts per nine innings are nothing to write home about, but Jungmann could prove valuable if Milwaukee's offense continues to give him run support.

Jungmann was handed his first loss of the season Sunday as he allowed two runs on seven hits and two walks through five innings against the Nationals. He struck out five batters in the defeat.
The 25-year-old needed 105 pitches to make it through five frames, but was able to limit the damage and pitched well enough to win if he had received the run support. Jungmann now owns a 2.25 ERA through two career starts and could stick in the rotation, although the date of his next start hasn't been determined yet.

Jungmann will remain in the Brewers' rotation for another turn and start Sunday against the Nationals, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Jungmann earned another start with the big club by giving up just three hits over seven innings and picking up the win in his big league debut Tuesday. It's not certain that he will remain in the big league rotation beyond Sunday, but the Brewers are still looking for a regular fifth starter with Wily Peralta (ribs) sidelined, and Jungmann now has the upper hand for the spot.

Jungmann was dominant in his Major League debut Tuesday, holding the Pirates to just one run in seven innings to earn the win.
Jungmann only allowed three hits and fanned five in the impressive start. After posting a troubling 6.39 ERA through 11 appearances with Triple-A Colorado Springs, Tuesday's success was a bit of a surprise. If he gets another turn in the rotation Jungmann will likely take the ball against the Royals early next week.

Jungmann was recalled from Triple-A Colorado Springs on Tuesday.
Jungmann will jump right into the Brewers' rotation and make his big league debut Tuesday night in Pittsburgh. He is one of the Brewers' better pitching prospects as a former first-rounder, but he has really struggled this year, posting a 6.37 ERA and 1.52 WHIP in 11 games, including nine starts, with Colorado Springs. The Brewers have not announced if Jungmann will remain in rotation moving forward, but his performance Tuesday figures to play a key factor in the decision.

Jungmann will be recalled from Triple-A Colorado Springs on Tuesday and start against the Pirates.
Jungmann has been considered for a spot start multiple times this season, but it will finally happen Tuesday evening in Pittsburgh. The 25-year-old right-hander owns a 6.37 ERA and 1.52 WHIP through 59.1 innings this year, but at least a part of those shaky numbers can be attributed to a hitter-friendly ballpark and league in general. He's been better of late, however, collecting quality starts in two of his last three outings.

Jungmann tossed seven innings in each of his last two starts with Triple-A Colorado Springs. Over that span, he allowed 11 hits, five earned runs -- good for a 3.21 ERA -- and posted a 15:3 K:BB ratio.
Jungmann has been knocked around several times this year, giving up at least five earned runs in five of his 10 appearances, but he was sharp over his last two outings. Jungmann is not on the verge of being called up, but the Brewers are in need of a fifth starter at the moment, so he could get a chance with the big club if he continues pitching well.

Jungmann is an option to be called up to start Tuesday's game in St. Louis, the Journal-Sentinel's Tom Haudricourt reports.
Wily Peralta is on the 15-day DL with a rib-cage strain and Tuesday is the first day when the Brewers will require a replacement in the rotation. The other candidate, according to manager Craig Counsell, is Tyler Thornburg. Jungmann, a 6-foot-6 righty who was a first-round pick in the 2011 draft, may appear to have the pedigree of a frontline arm, but he has never really flashed that potential in the minor leagues. His numbers at Triple-A Colorado Springs should be taken with a grain of salt given the extreme hitting environment, but if Jungmann were to get the call he should still be viewed as a fringe big-league starter.

Jungmann has allowed 19 earned runs in 16.2 innings (10.26 ERA) over four starts with Triple-A Colorado Springs.
Jungmann has given up just one home run and has struck out 15 batters in his 16.1 frames, but he has allowed an average of over two runners per inning up to this point, and has not had much luck keeping runs off the board. Jungmann was the Brewers' de facto sixth starter to open the season, but it seems unlikely that he would even be considered for a big league job until he gets things back on track.
