Wright pitched 4.2 innings Friday, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks while striking out five in a loss to the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
Starter Drew Pomeranz lasted just four innings, so length was needed out of the bullpen. Wright made his second appearance of the season and pitched well, giving the Red Sox time to mount a comeback from a 5-1 deficit, but the hole Pomeranz dug was too big. This was the fourth time in six starts that Pomeranz has been unable to go six innings. He's dealt with some injuries early on and left Friday's game with a 5.97 ERA. If the Red Sox want to make a change, Wright submitted evidence Friday that he's worthy of a spot in the rotation.

Wright allowed two runs on two hits and three walks while striking out one in 2.1 innings of relief in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to Oakland.
EDGE Analysis
This was Wright's first game action of 2018 after he dealt with a knee injury and served a 15-game suspension. He's expected to remain in a relief role, a plan that was reinforced Tuesday after the Red Sox placed relievers Hector Velazquez (back) and Carson Smith (shoulder) on the disabled list Tuesday.

Wright (suspension) was activated Monday, Chad Jennings of The Athletic Boston reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wright is back with the Red Sox after serving his 15-game suspension. The veteran hurler will head to the bullpen with Boston set on starters, serving as a long reliever for the time being. He could eventually shift back to a starting role should an opening in the rotation arise. Hector Velazquez (back) was sent to the disabled list in a corresponding move.

Wright (suspension) is expected to be activated ahead of Monday night's game, Jason Mastrodonato of the Boston Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wright's 15-game suspension is up Monday, so a move needs to be made. The remaining questions are how does Boston manipulate the roster to accommodate Wright's return and in what role will he serve. Sending Hector Velazquez, who has minor-league options, down to Triple-A would be the simplest way to answer the first question. The knuckle-balling right-hander has served as primarily a starter the last few seasons, but there's no room in the rotation, so pitching out of the bullpen is the likely answer to the second question. Wright's capable of giving the Red Sox multiple innings, much like Velazquez and Brian Johnson have done, which in turn gives manager Alex Cora a chance to reset a bullpen if need be.

Wright (suspension) will be used as a reliever once he's reinstated, Evan Drellich of NBC Sports Boston reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wright is scheduled to throw in relief Friday on his rehab assignment, and the Red Sox seem content with the starters they already have on staff. As such, the knuckleballer will head to a long-relief role upon reinstatement, largely limiting his fantasy value outside of spot starts.

Wright (suspension) threw six innings of one-run ball in a rehabilitation outing for Triple-A Pawtucket on Tuesday, Jason Mastrodonato of the Boston Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wright is expected to make one more rehab appearance, throwing an inning or two of relief, before the Red Sox prepare to get him back from his 15-game suspension. Manager Alex Cora said he's not sure how Wright will be used when he returns to the team, although out of the bullpen is the likeliest scenario.

Wright (knee) was reinstated from the 10-day disabled list Saturday to begin serving his 15-game suspension, freelance sports writer Maureen Mullen reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wright was on a minor-league rehab assignment with Triple-A Pawtucket and was expected to require another outing or two before returning. The struggles of Drew Pomeranz -- 7.27 ERA and 1.73 WHIP in two starts -- could have prompted the move from the Red Sox to start the clock on the suspension, which Wright was handed in late March for violating the league's domestic violence policy. The 33-year-old is first eligible to return May 14 against the Athletics.

Wright (knee) is scheduled to make a rehab appearance for Triple-A Pawtucket on Wednesday, Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wright was pulled from his previous rehab start due to lower-back stiffness, but he was able to get through a bullpen with no issues Monday, clearing the way for him to make his next rehab start on schedule. He'll likely need multiple more rehab outings before he's ready to make his 2018 big-league debut.

Wright (knee) appears to have avoided injury after being pulled from a rehab start due to lower back stiffness, Brendan McGair of the Pawtucket Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wright's back is good to go after he was removed for precautionary reasons during his last minor-league start. He successfully completed a bullpen session Monday, and he's expected to make another rehab start in the near future. Wright is still trying to make his way back to the big leagues following left knee surgery.

Wright (knee) was removed from a rehabilitation start in the third inning due to lower back stiffness, Stephen Hewitt of the Boston Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wright had made it through 61 pitches and 2.2 innings before getting pulled. He's making his way back from from surgery to repair his left knee.
