Souza is out of the lineup Monday against the Angels, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Since returning from a thumb injury a little over a week ago, Souza has yet to regain the strong form at the plate he showed throughout April. He's recorded just four hits while starting in the previous eight games and has struck out in 38.9 percent of his plate appearances. Manager Kevin Cash will move Michael Martinez into the lineup Monday in place of Souza with the hope that the day off proves beneficial.

Souza went 1-for-5 with a three-run home run, two runs and a walk during Sunday's win over Boston.
EDGE Analysis
Souza's three-run bomb saved an otherwise uneventful afternoon, and he's now 12 games removed from his last multi-hit outing. He sports a worrisome 5-for-45 run at the dish and .437 OPS during that stretch, too. Souza still owns a respectable .266/.365/.445 slash line for the season, and it's probably best to count on more peaks and valleys from the streaky hitter going forward.

Souza (thumb) is starting in right field and leading off Saturday against the Red Sox, Marc Topkin of Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
He missed the previous four games with the thumb injury, but is ready to return to his right field duties. The righty-hitting Souza will hit atop the order against dominant lefty Chris Sale.

Souza (thumb) remains out of the lineup Friday against the Red Sox, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Souza suggested Wednesday that the cortisone shot he received was taking effect, and that he hoped to return in a limited capacity this weekend. It's uncertain when he may be able to return to the starting lineup. With Souza down, Corey Dickerson has been thrust into outfield duty and Peter Bourjos has been left as the lone healthy reserve in the outfield, although Daniel Robertson can probably help out in a pinch.

Souza (thumb) is hoping to return this weekend as a defensive replacement or pinch runner, Roger Mooney of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Souza won't be able to make a full return to the lineup until next week after receiving a cortisone shot in his ailing thumb Wednesday, but his willingness to get back on the field serves as an indication to his readiness. The outfielder is off to a rough start this month (2-for-25, 11 strikeouts), yet likely remains the primary right fielder for the Rays going forward.

Souza (thumb) received a cortisone injection in his right thumb Wednesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Souza said he's feeling better and hopes to return soon.
EDGE Analysis
The fly-catcher has now missed three games in a row after being hit on the hand Monday. Souza remains day-to-day, but shrewd fantasy players should assume he'll miss at least one more contest for rest.

Souza (thumb) is out of the lineup Thursday against the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
Souza hasn't appeared in the Rays' previous two games and looks bound to sit out the series finale with the Royals, unless manager Kevin Cash elects to clear the 28-year-old for pinch-hitting duties. The Rays are still viewing Souza as day-to-day after X-rays earlier in the week cleared him of any structural damage to his thumb, but it's not yet clear if he'll be back in the lineup for the club's weekend series in Boston.

Souza (thumb) was not available to hit Tuesday, but is hopeful to be used off the bench Wednesday against the Royals, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Souza is not in the starting lineup for the second consecutive day. Regardless, the Rays hope to use him at some point Wednesday and insert him back in the lineup as soon as possible.

Souza (thumb) is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Royals, Roger Mooney of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Souza incurred a hand injury Monday and has yet to return to action. Fortunately, X-rays didn't reveal any structural damage, so there has yet to be any indication that Souza will require a stint on the disabled list. With Souza out, Tampa Bay will add Corey Dickerson to the outfield and move Colby Rasmus to right.

Souza (hand) is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Royals, Roger Mooney of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
This isn't too surprising, as Souza was lifted prematurely from Monday's contest with a hand injury. X-rays came back negative, and the injury isn't thought to be overly serious, so he'll get the day off with the hope of him returning for Wednesday's contest. Colby Rasmus is sliding over to start in right field for the game while Corey Dickerson takes over in left.
